I bought the car in mid December with the intention of making it into a track car/weekend car. It cost me £700 and has ~137,000 miles on the clock.
My plan of action so far has mainly been to sort the car out mechanically first, and then prep it for the track.
This was basically how the car was when I bought it (minus the dash taken apart.

The first jobs were to remove the spare wheel cage and then start on the more major jobs. The first two jobs were to get the heater blowers working and to change the clutch cable.
The clutch cable took a long time to do, mainly due to the air conditioning pipes fouling it. Finally it went into place after a lot of cut knuckles, swearing and threatening to set the car on fire. The cable made the clutch feel 10x better, but the clutch will still need replacing as it slips slightly under heavy acceleration in first. I have the new clutch but am in no rush to fit it until I can get access to a lift.
The heaters took a while to sort, even though it turned out to be a very simple fault. After trying a new control unit, and stripping down the entire dash, I finally found that the relay for the heaters was completely missing with the wires just dangling around behind the dash. Simply refit these wires with a relay, fit the correct fuses in the correct slots (some right clown has owned this car at some point) and the heater fired into life. Cue a lot more cursing trying to refit the wires onto the back of the heater control.
After getting p*ssed off doing these two jobs I decided to do something therapeutic and ripped out all the interior from the front seats backwards. I also sourced some original alloys from Rikky which instantly improved the looks, handling, ride and grip.

After this I got an original airbox and filter to replace the induction kit that was rattling around bashing into the radiator and fitted an OMP strut brace which has made a massive difference. I can't believe how this thing grips compared to the Toledo I drive day to day.

The next stage is to refresh the suspension and bushes so I have a box downstairs containing TREs, drop links, wish bones and top mount bearings with rear subframe mounts and bushes due to be delivered later this week.

Yeah thats the one. I nearly bought it from you before Phil bought it too Laugh

Strangely, I bought that one to make mine quieter. I made the longlife I had before silly loud by making it straight through. Hoping this one wll be quiet enough for trackdays, it's all I ask.

Anyways, will stop spamming this guys thread now.

Never noticed that. Don't suppose that is for sale from your car Rikky Razz?
Not sure what the headlights are. The car isn't here for me to look at, but I'll check at the weekend.

Lights are black masks, have a check to see what make they are Yes

Depo or Valeo. If Valeo, you're onto a winner Cool

I had a few minutes so went and took a few pictures of the lights. They are marked Valeo and appear undamaged although I don't know what all the black silicone is on the top of them.

Also, is this plug supposed to be just dangling around disconnected?

Looks like some one made some home brew "black masks" hence the silicone and the plus is for the diganotics so no need to worry Wink

I bought it from a bloke in Selby but I believe he had bought it for his wife and then found he couldn't get insurance for her. He bought the car in about August I think so I have no idea about the history of the car before that.
