Yeah, they're perfect on the road, if I go really silly and deliberately try to overheat the pads, I can just get a hint of fade, but that's all, 1144's did me for short track sessions so these should be even better, but I think it still might be pushing it if you tend to stay out for long sessions.

Yes, 330i Sport Touring Manual. Blue metallic with black alcantara interior - picking it up next weekend!

Damn good road pad, probably good for some light track abuse, but I'm not sure they'd take long sessions without fading.

I have already driven Ash’s LBS 306 with Blue Stuff pads on track. No problems with overheating with 310mm brake kit. So would like to try them on my car for road driving – mainly to stop the awful noise from Carbotech (still going to use Carbotech on track).

Great car Dennis, if I can get mine to half the car this is I'll be a happy man!

Sorry if its been asked before, but what is the advantage of fitting the mi16 clutch?

MI16 clutch: it is push type instead of pull.
- much easier to fit gearbox
- can run cable with manual adjuster instead of horrible automatic – can choose the biting point of the pedal to my liking
- there is no bracket at the front of gearbox – more space for induction kit
- for some reason the push clutch does not get stiffer with age like standard (not sure why)
- I had one in the garage

nope, doddle to do, literally just a case of removing the box,
swapping the clutch arm,
removing the brackets from the box.
swap clutch kit, fit bearing to clutch arm and refit box, fit new cable.

not sure what the torque and power limits are for either clutch but they're the same size and seem to cope with over 200 for road driving ok.

Plus they are absolutly filthy cheap pads for our fitment calipers too Denis! (we have AP's sorry to disappoint all you std caliper folk)

Carbotech's are something like £180 odd for the front pads.
NDX Bluestuff's are about £65 iirc! Before discount.

Billy bargain if they are reasonable.
The price is the only reason I tried the Yellowstuff pads. I paid £60 for them, but im not happy with them so will probably try the NDX Bluestuff next too. Whenever I get out again.....

A quick update: have not done anything to the car for a while – just been driving it more.

Did a track day at Cadwell back in March: 160 miles on track and loads of fun Happy

On Friday spend the day with my father playing at Snetterton: another 240 miles on track between the two of us. Was my father’s first track day and he hugely enjoyed it.
The new 300 circuit is awesome: quite technical with new Coram been probably the most difficult corner of all UK tracks (IMHO).

Edit:
Got a mention on PistonHeads forum: link, if anyone a member there – may be you can link to this thread to give the info on the car.

"but the stars, for me, of the day were certainly at the more affordable end of the market. A Mk2 Golf was very spritely and 'made like tripod' very easily, and a Peugeot 306 Rallye made the most awesome sound and backed up the audibles with monster capability both on the straights and in the corners. Would love to know what was going on under his bonnet"

Love it

Out of interest Denis, what sort of lap times were you seeing round the 300 circuit? I think we were in the mid 2:14s so at a guess you'd be a bit quicker.

Most laps with traffic were about 2:23-2:25. Couple of clear laps were in 2:20s, that was with a passenger and slicks that done over 1000 miles Wink

At Cadwell, fastest laps were in 1:45s.

I think, pretty good going in car that weighs 1050kgs without me in it and ¼ tank of petrol.
