Since a few of us race or are planning on racing (and the inundation of my brake pad thread), we thought it best to start a specific race thread.

So, who's racing? What series are you racing in? Failing that, what are you planning on racing in?

LOL good effort

I'm hoping to do at least one round of the French trophy next year in my rot box 309 although I'll probably spend more time spannering and developing the bridgecraft Mazda jap crap box Razz

I'll hopefully be racing in either the CSCC Tintops alongside Carl and the other btcc 306's, or the French Trophy which is a fun series with a lot of Clios that need putting in there place, or both, depending on funds/sponsorship etc. Rumour has it a Peugeot btcc 307 might be joining one of the series next year too...

I'm building the car up to go to Trackday Trophy next year then onwards elsewhere after that. While a touch more expensive than other races, I can share the driving with my Dad.

You can share with your dad in tintops too y'know. I've not raced in it yet, but it didn't seem to be that much of a friendly paddock though. Not like the french series which was a good laugh.

Tin Tops is probably going to be our next step after TDT, just want to go up against some other novices first before taking on the Tin Tops guys.

And whilst it's not 306 related (well, it does have some 306 bits on it), we'll be trying to stop the buggy exploding in either the AWDC or the British Cross Country Championship again, haven't decided which yet, or whether we'll just cherry pick events instead.

kinda as it sounds, its a race series for french cars only-

http://www.trackattackraceclub.com/pages/season-overview.php?season_id=19

regs might change a bit for 2014, don't think they have been confirmed yet.

Going to try do the Combe one atleast. But that depends how much it's going to cost to take my 205 from
Track spec to race ready.
Are the rules pretty strict like 2L catch tanks are mandatory etc etc? Or is it more like the trackday trophy in the aim to get track day goers racing.

Also are these race meets combined with other race series on the day so there's a full days circuit racing with other race series?

Your car wouldn't need much at all ash, in date belt etc. the scrutineering is fairly laxed, there's some right s**t that runs in the Nippon! Razz
If there's enough cars the French trophy will run on it's own otherwise it runs in the same race as the Nippon. There's plenty of other racing on in the same day, at coombe they ran on the Same day as the ccsc for example.

I know TDT runs as part of the MSVR package so you get Team Trophy, Mini Challenge, Atoms etc. racing on the same day.

Yeah I thought it would be held at the same time as the CCSC at Combe.

That's good. Yeah belts are 2 months old and seats are on date. Better get my ass on gear to get my race license then!!

In the French trophy, am I right in reading the entry fee is £300 per race day..? If so, how much race time do you get at each meeting?
