Almost need a race chat thread...

Indeed. As the rest of the forum seems to be dying a death maybe we can revitalise it with race talk?!

Quick question Allan.

You mentioned the need for ducting with the 1155s, what's the reason for it?

To keep them a bit cooler! Razz you don't need it, as they'd probably be ok but the cooler your brakes are the less likely they are to overheat, fade and die.

Who's starting the race thread then? Thumbs up

Yep, as allen says, keeping the bulk temps under control is the key to long pad and disc life, no matter what compound.

Plan is to go out on a trackday at Snet around Feb time with the car / us in race ready state. I can monitor the temps there to see how they cope but obviously it'll probably still be pretty cold at that point anyway.

Bit of an update to this. I had placed an order for M1155s but supply was limited as neither Camskill or Mintex UK had any in stock so I cancelled it.

Having spoken to Carbotech I'm now getting a set of XP8s instead.

Questmead would have sorted you out with any mintex pads you wanted. Very knowledgeable too, so have a solution to any racing scenario.
