its all being done by colin at pug performance for peace of mind. hence me not wanting to spend much else on the engine that should be pretty sound right now. im gonna get lighter front seats and a carbon fibre bonnet next. then windows. so ill shed some weight and improve handling, braking, acceleration, mpg, parts wear.then when im past 25 (insurance) i may think about turbos and superchargers and throttle bodies. untill then im best leaving the engine well alone. ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

i have been rung. and an engie was purring on the end of the phone.my car has a new beating heart. nostalgia over..............old engine......was fooked. big end gone, bent valves plus other things......well n truely rubber ducked (will get pics up when i take them when i collect my car). my legal recourse with the other garage is as predicted minimal as the damage was so extensive it was hard to pinpoint 100% the cause. plus side is new newer engine will less miles and general less prang as an overpriced muppet hasnt done the work. will pick her up some time this week hopefully. and let you guys know all about the good work done at pug performance motorsport ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |

just had a look over that. made me chuckle. i studied music at oxford brookes uni. i knew a few people that worked in the mini factory. its no wonder some were installed poorly.seems like mini skimped on wire gauge for cost effectiveness...i wouldn't say that completely writes off the idea. there is merit in going from "analogue to digital" as it were. even more so if you can get the electricity for free, which is why i planned out the workings for a steam turbine alternator (im still halfway there). if i ever get that working anything i can switch to run off electricity is a bonus. ________________________________________ the world is changed by people in sheds |
