i took it all apart and sprayed them with hammerite smooth silver

i just washed them down with petrol and sprayed a couple of coats of hammerite on them. it worked ok with my mates engine

i fitted the cams over the over the weekend, i put new cam seals in





the carriers are now bolted down





spray bars



pulleys sprayed and in place

Fingers crossed Smile Hammerite needs a special primer for some metals such as aluminium (sump, rocker covers) so it might start to come off at some point Yes Doh Im sure it will be ok though Thumbs up

no progress on the engine yet mate, ive just had the rear lowered to match the front and put a seat ibiza splitter on that lasted about 5 minutes. i will get some pics up soon

i dont think i have had the money to spend on it like i would have like too , all the work has had to be done by myself and the g/f .

we will both carry on working on the car untill its done i think i have around 1250 left to spend to complete the job

states a few times they were piper ultimate road which was the PT82's afaik, best bet is to pop the pulleys off and check the markings on the end.

There are no markings on the cams and the ad that I bought the engine from did not mention that the cams where non standard. I've taken them out and fitted PT80's but I'm keen to know what I've removed!

The cams that I removed from this engine had the same stamps etc as std cams, it's currently running well and pulling strong on PT80's. it's off to Wayne Schofield on Monday for a remap. I'll post the before and after power figures.
