Well... ive made a start on the car

The new engine is in anyways, manifold is on, along with new injectors and fuel rail, new lightend flywheel, new clutch, new lightend crank pully, charger bracket is on, charger is on, but have to take it off to mount the TB setup, not putting it on yet, because i may need to rotate the charger housing, havent figured out how the cooler pipes are going to work, but shall be sorting that 2moz if all goes well, gota marry exhaust up with manifold and put shafts back in and brakes back on first though, then i supose its just a case of sticking front end back on.

Anyways, a few pics ive taken since i started

Oh yesh! Ther's still a bit of crap left over from a split CV boot over the subframe, but ive cleaned as much off as i could, when the forged engine goes in, probly in 6months time, i'll have a proper clean up and go powdercoating mad, subframe, arb, new suspension, etc etc Smile

Birk it wouldn't be a "birk special project" without at least 75% of the engine bay made up of cable ties LOL

Glad to see your taking attention to detail and not rushing it. Should be a little beast when its done!

no we did that just to make sure it would fit.

He's not even put the pipes in yet so he is pretty far off that stage.

You might struggle with the rad lower hose by the look of that piping.

Birk wheres that boost pipework from, looks decent and easier than having it all welded up.

Hummmm

Like the I/C pipe routing.... I dont fancy taking mine under the x-member..... the spliter scrapes enough as it is with out having all the tubing under there..... my fear is that it will just get ripped off.....

But good work keep it up....

Intercooler is just temp mounted with wire for now, just to hold it up, will be making proper brackets for it, have no fear haha

My neighbours hate me, not because of the way the side of house looks, mainly because of how loud the car is, they in for a shock when its finished LOL

side of house is behind a wall and big gate aswell, so they dont see all shit Smile

Fletch & mr styles - i never actually thought of the pipes LOL

ive just been out to look, ther looks to be enough room for it, but it might be tight, so may have to extend it a little, i'll sort it, rather do that than have the cooler pipes under the front.

Mr Lover - the pipe kit is an alloy one off ebay

basically renders the thing worthless to anyone else.

DO you have a link to the pipe work kit you got then? What should you have bought? does it all fit together then???

Had to have mine stitch welded to the housing also,just the way things are.some press into the housing perfect,some don't.shit happens.

Plus i dont plan to take the housing or charger off anytime soon so dont really care! LOL

Looking good mate,but i think your going to run into difficulties with the intercooler pipping as i had an intercooler like that first off but had to buy one with the pipes facing down in the end Sad

As ash said, the TB housing is about 1mm to large for the charger outlet, so its loose, got no pic unfortunatly.

Ive had to take off the water bottle to get the pipe through and chop the bracket off that hols it in place so i can get the pipe up to the charger, maybe a little rough, but i was determind to have it this way and not under the front Smile

causing me alot of grief, but i wont shit my self when i drive it LOL

The cooler pipes are all near enough sorted, when its all done and properly plumbd in, i shall take pics and you can all see how i have done it Smile

mine has a brass shim around the inlet to the supercharger, probably only a fraction of a mm thick, but enough to make it a tight fit, windscreen sealer was then used to get an airtight fit, i had to tap mine on with a rubber mallet, brass shim was sharp as f*ck though, sliced me fingers on it
