the place thats doing the engine/pistons is only 20miles from here, and really friendly. they also do the engine on the Lotus Bullet so cant be bad.

Seen the problems these cars have and wanted to go a different way, scrap all the s**t it doesnt need and build it how I want to, yes that kinder defeats the point of buying it in the first place but its no good if it wont finish the race! Jerrys car has only finished 1 race this year out of 7 starts!

So all the managment is out, pi dash is out and omex, jenvys and a race technology dash going in! All simple stuff that all should work and easy to sort if it goes wrong.

Exactly as I have done! Pi s**t out, sure it was good back in 2000 when the car was built but today's stuff is miles better. Sold my efi euro 6 Ecu for £1600! And replaced it with a dta s60, along with race technology data logging, 4 camera video system, can adaptor so it talks direct to the ecu and a digi dash. Easy to use, loads of support and the comms cables don't cost 400 quid like the efi ones. For club racing you need no more. The race technology stuff is standard issue in britcar too!

Excellent, I may have made an extravagant purchase so I'll be racing next year, but in which car... not sure yet!

Do you need an international licence to do Spa? Is it just because June looks like an expensive month your not doing Spa or another reason? (Could always tie it in with a 'ring trip, it's only an hour or so from Spa!)

what you bought?!

yes you need an international licence for spa hence why I cant do it, but then 3 races in June with one being in Spa and another in Wales would be very expensive!

Bought one of my old cars back, but now with 230hp, close ratio box, plate diff etc. Should be an animal as it was quick when I sold it with a standard engine, standard 6 speed box and quaife atb. It's a grp A spec with tubular wishbones, better ARB, AP brakes, pugsport pedal box, solid engine mounts etc Probably going to race it as it is, maybe put my penskes on it, we'll see. Other option is to stick the engine in my btcc 306 and race that. There's something appealing about racing a car that's not worth quite as much money as my btcc 306!

I can understand that, part of me wishes I never bought my btcc one, as I enjoyed the simpleness of the other one, but then like the history and pedegree of the btcc one.

Indeed! I have no doubt it won't be as quick as my btcc 306 with the same engine in it but I don't think it would be far off. I'd probably get more out of it too as I'd be happier to push the limits in it. May well start out in one car and then swap to my btcc 306 at some point through the season...
