I'm stuck with doing it on the 19th as its my uncles birthday and my cousins are paying for him to do the day as his present. Can't afford to do both dates, the car drinks fuel like its going out of fashion when it's not breaking itself LOL

I'd love to do oulton on the 12th, but finances say no to two trackdays and ive already said Id do the Brands hatch day.
I'll definitely be up for more trackdays next year though so let me know when you book the next one and I'll try to get myself booked on.

As for trumpets, that's why I bought a 205 Mei! I do like the noise of them but the chunk of torque given by the 'charger is awesome!

I have an MSV track days voucher for £150 that needs booking before the end of October or I can't use it.... I could do 19th or 2nd of they are MSV days? Be good to do it with some other forum guys never done brands yet and it's like 40 mins away from where I live!

I might bring the race car along. I'm racing at Brands the Saturday before so would depend on the car surviving and how much interest I have in doing Brands again Big grin Failing that I'll pop down anyway and say hi, only up the road from me.

Definitely considering booking the 19th as well if there's room.

Saw earlier in your thread you have Been having oil temp issues on track and now have an enormous cooler. I've got 19 row on mine atm but I'm debating changing my oil to fuchs titan race 10w50 synthetic before doing brands. Being a bit thicker when warm it should hold up better at high temps with decent film strength. What oil do you run currently then?

I'll let you know when i've booked that trackday then.
That's the oil and grade that i'm running in mine, seems to get to around 120-125c on track but not had any issues with it yet, mine gets to that temperature then stays there indefinitely until i back off and let it cool down which it does remarkably quickly.

Thought you had already booked it lol. It's just after my 30th bday as well. I don't use mine on track that much currently so I've been using decent 5w40 synthetic. Never gets over 100 on the road if that. Maybe 110 at pugfest after a few constant 53 second runs.

Update time:

Ordered some aluminium billets, they arrived and when the opportunity arrived i got some machining done and made a start on fitting the parts. This time i've made a spare of each of the parts just incase the worst should happen again, but fingers crossed it wont happen again due to the new way i'm mounting the 'charger bracket and now using high tensile bolts over stainless ones.

Here's the old damper setup that i removed, the inner wing made a bit of a mess of them!

The new parts and spares:

The new spacers that sit between the engine bracket and the 'charger bracket. Much meatier (and heavier Doh) but this time there should be no possibility of shearing any bolts.

I also made a small ally bracket to cable tie one of the coolant hoses to, it mounts to the under side of the intake manifold and keeps the silicon hose out of harms way as it runs from the thermostat housing to the header tank. A bit more added weight but peace of mind that the hose won't rub or get caught on anything and cause a coolant loss.

I think that's about it for updates, i'm just waiting on a set of high tensile bolts to hold the 'charger to the 'charger bracket now, and i somehow lost a spacer that i need to mount the auto tensioner so i'm going to have to knock another one up this week at work.

As for the trackday at brands hatch, i think i'll book it this friday as it's payday. Smile

Thanks Damien, I booked the trackday at Brands Hatch on the 19th of November incase anybody else wanted to go, just thought i'd confirm that i'll be there.

I finished off the car the other day and took it for a test drive tonight, everything seems to be in order once again. Smile

Yeh seems you chose a busy day.... I rang them and they've put me on the list if anyone drops out but otherwise I'll leave it till next year now. Have extended my voucher as they don't even get dates past the beginning of December.... Can't book more than a couple of months ahead... I'll have till Jan to book now so hopefully get a March date booked up in Jan.
