And I've gone and picked up some Baker BM adjustable top mounts so hopefully now I'll be able to add a bit of camber up front and with my limited driving abilities, I might notice a difference!

Also picked up a set of 6 point harnesses (just out of date). Figuring that the current harnesses in the car are about 20-25 years old, it cant be a bad thing to replace them!

Opentrack currently have a cheap day at Anglesey for Sat 3rd December which I've just booked £99, £89 with discount code. If anyone else fancies jumping on it?

Also looking at possibly Blyton end of October, and maybe 3 sister evening even next month as well.

This is the type of washing I like on the line

Gave the new (to me) harnesses a clean and jet wash, although Im not planning to fit them any time soon

Also noticed that the back of the car was covered in wadding fibers after the last few trackdays so decided to cut open the middle box and re-pack it. Not my tidiest of welding but its done the job as there wasnt anything left in there

And fitted the Baker BM adjustable top mounts, currently set to around negative 2.5 degrees, wants to pull you all over the place on the road.

Not really driven it properly to see as need to sort the alignment first but it feels completely different. I've purchased a tracking gauge so will try set it to parallel when that turns up. The true test will be the next lot of tracktime I suppose.

And there was a small local car show on this weekend so I popped down with it to rep the 306!

Made a big difference on mine. Running 3.5 degrees on the front currently. I wouldn’t worry about how it drives before you’ve done the tracking as it will be miles out after changing the camber.

Well Im hoping the gauges should turn up early next week and I can get the thing running parallel. Then its an excuse to get tracktime to see the difference.

Get some camber gauges on there too just to make sure it’s set up perfectly.

We are at Combe on the 24th October but may be a bit of a way away?!

So figured I'd sort the tracking out after fitting the new mounts.

Initial check wouldnt even register on the gauge, was about 4 degrees toe in

So aimed for parallel and some home brew string lines to measure and get the steering wheel pointing straight.

Bit of tweaking and got it pretty much bang on. Quick run out in it and it appears to be good.

Gone back to a standard disc as I wasnt happy with the way the drilled/grooved discs where chewing up the pads (I never liked drilled but they sent me the wrong ones and gave me a decent discount to keep them)

That was a track evening old M1155 pad. I've just gone to F6R pads with standard discs to try on the next few trackdays.

Also taken it to a few more local coffee morning type meets, surprising how much attention it gets

Other than that, not really done much with it, just given it the once over as have a few Trackdays planned in the next few weeks.

Blyton on Saturday 12th November
Anglesey on Saturday 3rd December

If anyone wants to come join us I believe theres still spaces available for both

Only other thing I've done is since fitting the new top mounts, the strutbrace wouldnt fit and if it did it would have stopped me being able to get to any of the adjustable parts of the mount. So chopped it up, modified it, added some strengthening bits to the mounts, grinded the old paint off as it was rusting in parts, and gave it a quick brush with the good old hammerite (I'll do a proper job on it at some point later down the line.

First time out proper with the rear hybrid ARB and 2.5 degree negative front camber set up. Definitely felt more planted, much better turn in, overall just felt to have more grip.

Great feedback! I run a hybrid rear axle and baker bm topmounts as well. Did you set the camber based on the markings on the topmount?

I didn't use the markings as they were a little off on each side. I made myself a bit of a camber gauge and used that instead when I set up the tracking/alignment etc.

I'm not a fan of hybrid arb. Served a purpose years ago pre axle rebuild. But now, would rather fit consistent 28.5 or 30mm arb

Came up cheap 2nd hand or Id have probably gone down the larger bar route.

Ideally I'd like to increase the torsion bar size as well (currently just on a 21mm) but again, I just see what/ if anything ever comes up for sale etc.

Not much uprated stuff comes up 2nd hand tbh. We'll I've not seen anything for a while.

Even though I fitted it to my estate, 23s and 28.8mm arb coupled with b8s with h&r springs, worked exceptionally well. I think it's Martilus Laffin that has fitted similar to his rallye

Yeah, would be something along them lines that I'd probably want to go for eventually.

Quite happy with where I have got it to just now tho, all the small changes seem to keep getting it in the right direction and I still dont mind giving it a B road blast. Dont want to loose that really as you can get to the point where it becomes purely track.

Good to see that there is still interest in tweaking the 306 that's for sure.

While there isn't much uprated stuff that comes up for sale anymore i think there might be enough interested people to get some small runs on bespoke upgrades, wont be like the group buys of old but it could work.

One day i will finally get around to getting Andy (if he hasn't retired by then LOL) to build me a rear beam and hopefully that will have some upgraded tweaks to it.
