What condition are the engine/gearbox mounts in?

And dop the quickshift linkages off to help with the diagnosis - quickshift linkages + knackered engine mounts = exact symptom you're describing.

The variable clutch pedal doesn't fit with that though, were any bits carried over from the old gearbox whilst refitting?
What gearbox oil have you used?

Phil: Group N gearbox mount put in by myself, make of linkages unkown as fitted by previous owner. Peugeot 75/80 oil used. And only the clutch arm and pin were used from the old box.

Birk: Yes fork bearings replaced with new and greased up.

Drew: Thrust bearing replaced with clutch change last time round.

Gear box was sweet and only thing that it needed was the clutch cable arm - I'd try some std linkage and check the ball joint thingy on the sub frame ?

How can dodgey linkages/rods cause the clutch biting point to drop? Crazy

The peddle even physically drops a slight bit when this all starts happening.

Why all the aggression.. i only asked a quesiton - i need to be sure what the problem is before i start chucking even more money at the problem Wink

And fletch how would the flywheel cause this, Ash mentioned it earlier and is a new one on my list of possible problems Hmm

Here's my pics of the clutch i fitted up against the clutch removed. Can someone check the part numbers for me (ordered from GSF):
