depending on the pads they may well need a bit of heat in them to work properly, especially BEFORE the mot test Wink

How do they test the brakes at the MOT center then Dunno I was under the impression the just checked all was working without moving the car? Unsure

They do a brake efficiency test, when they spin the wheels up on the rollers.

Brakes look awesome anyway Big grin

what Pete said regarding the test itself, what I meant was that many pads need to be heat cycled to bed them in, especially uprated aftermarket pads.

just noticed the R-clip in your pictures, its meant to fit around the castellated nut not over the end of the shaft Smile

Although ideally you'd always want your shiny new brakes nicely bedded in, the RS4-2s that Tom is talking about are fine and have plenty of abrasive friction even when cold. As long as he's done enough miles to make sure the pad is physically in contact with the disc properly, I'd very surprised if they had trouble passing the MOT rollers as it's not a hugely brutal test.

If you tell them they've just had new pads and discs fitted they'll give you some leeway anyway.

Failed its MOT Meh Something to do with the Handbrake and also front hoses are supposedly catching on something, my guess is the suspension mount Yes Got an advisory on the suspension leaking, little do they know its just overspray WD40 Laugh

Joy of joys then once again i will spend this weekend fixing my car Sad

Tom

Ive got some old std front hoses, that you can have if you want to cut off the grommet/bung thingy, so you can fix yours to the strut bracket properly.....

Just replaced mine, and will be doing a project thread shortly, as I have spent a f'in foutune in the last week.....

Cheers buddy, i chopped the grommets off the old ones as suggested by Phil and have used them along with cable ties to secure the hose so should have been fine Yes Hence i can only imagine it is catching on the strut somehow elsewhere Yes One of the clip thingys for all the wires/hoses is secured by cable ties as the thread in the hub has gone so cant secure by bolt, that could well be the problem Yes There isnt anything drastic wrong with it so hopefully wont take me all day to sort out Yes

I look forward to your thread Chris Thumbs up I presume you wont be needing any yokes in the future then?
