Well if you want to part ex your Jenvey set-up for mine, bit more cash your way, let me know. Jenvey 48's DCOE with Jenvey manifold, linkage, fuel rail etc.

Are you looking to sell your setup?

Only if I buy Jims, although I will be moving onto seperate bodies and a custom manifold at some point but not for a while.

Ok, had a chat with the chap with the BM, it's possible a deal might not get done, I've updated as many of the prices as I can now. If people want to make me offers via PM for parts or packages of parts, I'll have a sift through and can make a decision after Sunday and let you know for definite one way or the other.

State what you are after, and total you want to pay (exc postage etc) and I'll get back as soon as I have an answer.

Just to be clear, the cage will be finished and in sound condition before the car leaves, and I'll update with photos of everything if the deal falls through on Sunday. I'll make no bones of it though, it's my money and graft and I'm trying to get as much back as possible. Not many like this get broken now, and all the parts are new or practically new.

Deal done, subject to getting his car up on the ramps and a test drive, sorry chaps, it's been emotional.

He only wants the engine, he's got a 205 race car with a Gti6 lump in it and want's to upgrade. So I think his plan is to swap his current lump into the white shell and flog it on. So it's unlikely to ever end up as I intended, but then again I never planned to sit on it for the best part of 5 years!

He's taking the lot, I'm losing a chunk of money but it's all done and dusted in one fell swoop.

Jim out of interest ....What did you value it all at ?

Your one of the few people I looked too when I first came on here & you were always buying stuff & selling ...I can see you put up prices but when you did the deal you must of knew your ball park figure & what the BM was worth ?

PS got your rear mounts off Jord294 3 yrs ago & like new.....hope you are still going to be mending & making parts ?

Toughto put a value on it, ok I know what it all cost etc but it won't sell for that obviously. I need the space where the car is at and I'm unlikely to be getting a garage. In the next couple of years that might change but I've had enough of waiting. I'm buying a big house too so even if I did have a garage I'd be struggling to find the money to finish then use the car. Trackday aren't cheap and wear and tear/fuel for something I might use 3-4 times a year plus 25K total sunk into it seems a hell of a waste now that Im a family man with other things to find money for than just myself.
I stopped adding stuff up at around 14K worth for sale, if I waited I might have brought in between 10-12k through selling bits but it might have taken a while and I wasn't looking forward to all the posting and photographing and gradually watching my dream of a race car going out the window piece by piece.
I'm not overly in love with the car im swapping for, it's an SMG not a manual, it's fairly high mileage at 120K and to top it all its a cat D due to some aparently fairly minor damage to the rear suspension (broken toe link) I am getting money on top of the car but not enough to make me feel happy about the deal but there you go, if I'm honest I think the BM is worth between 7-8k and there is £1,200 cash my way. It's been an expensive ride and in hindsight I'd buy a complete car from someone selling up rather than arse about building my own, it's just too expensive a hobby these days.
I'm going to properly inspect the car on Sunday, go for a test drive and then get her up on the ramps and give the car a thorough look over. If it doesn't pass muster the deal will be off and my plans might change. But it's unlikely I'll be finishing this one as I just think too much time has passed now and my priority for the next 5-10 years will be family and business, which doesn't leave much room in my life for a project like that if I can't work on it conveniently.

So basically £8200-£9200 Jim ? Inc £1200 cash .....
Must admit I personally wouldn't touch a cat d...as if you sell it that's when you get hassle but if you plan on keeping it not a problem Thumbs up
Your a switched on cookie so I'm sure you won't get caught out Thumbs up

Jim you sound like you have fallen out of love ?or just maybe you just can't wait to see the back of the bits as you would love to see it finished really ? ...is that because you deep down wish you had time & money to finish / use / it ?

I really hope you don't regret selling it ...I really do Jim Whistle ...

Look ...you do what's best for you ...but I know lots of people inc myself would jump at the chance of bits !
But it sounds like you want it gone now ....& you don't want the hassle ?

You could always sell it collect only & take deposits ?
Photos will take 5mins ...
Surly it's worth loads more in parts ? £8200-£9200 doesn't sound a lot ?
What ever you do good luck m8 ...
Keep us all posted Thumbs up

jim havent had time to read all thread but look into putting prefab concrete panelled garage up as i have , as surely they are classed as temporary construction as they bolt together , also under planning regulations hieght with flat roof ,and sure if its 16 foot away from house no planning needed , thats what was told when asked planning a while back , just look into it

Well, done the last of the welding refitting a new tunnel brace after cutting out the old one to make the fitting of the box for the fuel tank possible.

Looks great Jim ....I take it the bottom / Base of the said box drops lower than what you can see and goes close to the exhaust ?
From what I can see 6inchs lower than the seat base ? ....I'm gauging that by the tub sat in the box ?

Bottom of the box is about level with the top of the exhaust tunnel plus a smidge to alow for some ally heat-shield material.

I flat out don't want to let it go, but I can't justify the funds to finish it either. If anyone wants to cross my palm with a chunk more cash they can save it themselves lol.
