I also have an old PS Magnex system on mine - word of warning i fitted a decat and it made it crazily loud - very aggressive top end pull though which was nice on track but made it slow at the bottom of the rev range.

I've read the decat effectively moves the torque curve - driveability wise it was worse, but lots of fun from 4-7k

2.5 twin box Magnex ?

I believe so, it's the first description that tally's with my car which I was told is a magnex but has no markings. I've got the original cat back on now as decat was too loud but that was also down to a virtually empty centre section box

I fitted a 4inch 2.5 bore magnex to mine on a decat and thought it sounded s**t. Very hollow sounding.
Put my piper back on which sounded much deeper. Didnt think the magnex was loud at all.

But having said this, i like a deep sounding exhaust burble. I currently have a full hayward and scott 2.5 system ( custom made to be 98db max )that sounds like a wasp in a tin can and i hate it but everyone says it sounds great.

Static probably meaning car sat still, and revved to what they tell you too, normally 3/4 of full revs.

Yep standing still, 4500rpm generally bedford is seems pretty consistent. It was a heck of a lot louder with the decat

Everything went well at Combe on Sat apart from my Front exhaust rubber mount melting to the point it was a dripping black liquid Thumbs down ...
The Stainless wrapped exhaust at the hanger mount in the middle of the picture behind decat ....got just far to hot & wasn't covered or coated.!!!
Going to have a re-think ?....possibly use a fine heat wrap & powerflex hangers with are Urethane instead of rubber ?

I have never had any issues with melting mounts with a magnex, the exhaust must be tight against the mount by the look of that picture.
How do you find the exhaust compared to your last one then?

It's not tight I think the problem is it's the closest point from the decat & the only point not wrapped so the heats getting directed to that area ?
I've got hold of some heat shield tape & Fire retardant tape & make a slightly bigger hole in the rubber/Urethane mounts ...

It's 89db at test Combe & above 3500 it feels a different car !!!....it just revs so freely now & easily red lined to the point I hit the band 3/4 times first time ever more than once .
The Car just needs my Sachshift fitted & more power in the way of Engine & bodies ...

Also heat wrap is specifically designed to keep the exhaust hot. Hotter exhaust = higher possibility of melting things.

How will you sort it without the heat wrap and the Satchshift meaning you cant run heat shields? I'm assuming i'll have a similar issue...

Simple fix !!!
The tunnel now the Exhaust is wrapped isn't getting hot just the hanger which isn't wrapped & will be Friday with some expensive wrap type 10mm tube Thumbs up

If anybody has the Same issue & pay postage I'll send them a few inches worth ...I only need 3 inchs length per hanger at the front = 2 hangers & use Powerflex mounts ...Thumbs up

Hot under the wrap !!!
I could touch the outside of my wrap Thumbs up after tracking Combe but the unwrapped hanger behind decat was crazy hot NO chance was I going to touch that !!!
The stuff I got coming will sort this small problem & I ive just been given 50metres of 50mm Fire retardent ultra thin wrap to go over heat wrap ...Bingo Thumbs up

Yes, but if the exhaust under the wrap is insulted and even hotter than before then the hangars will be even hotter than before.

So yeah like you said I guess you'll have to wrap the hangars.
