Hi Dan,

A guy locally has just offered me one so i'm going to give that a go first as he's litterally 5 mins away (its a Bitron identical to mine so less risky), if thats no good i'll certainly come back to you asap

Thanks again

im guessing if i said it would work
but as my pm peugeot wouldnt change the spec of the box except for the temp ranges

do you know of anyone local to you with a 6 you could try their box?
think the dervs had the same box but maybe a different temp range NOT THE HDI's as they are ECU controlled

Thanks Cully

So Dan is sending me his as its worth a try...the local one turned up today and its from a bloody 206, looks identical (Says bitron ppe gf10 on it) but the the molded lip is on the opposite side to the 306 one. Im assuming its not a good idea to cut the lip off and try it?

I've also been reading this thread: http://www.306gti6.com/forum/showthread.php?id=111406&page=2

is there any way if I have both fans spinning on low speed when bridging the relay that i could have a dodgy earth and they both still work? I'm assuming not...

I'll try Dan's box tomorrow when it arrives (thanks Dan) but i fear the worst and im running out of time/options before the track day :s

Cheers

FFS I could cry, fitted dans bitron and no difference, i'm utterly lost now, I've done everything people suggested!?

To recap I've done all of the following/these all happen:

1) remove brown plug and only drivers side fan spins at high speed
2) looking at the car head on if I bridge pins 3 and 5 of the right hand upper relay (green 4 pin) both fans spin at low speed
3) replaced black 5 pin relay
4) swapped the 2 green relays over and same scenario as above happens (assume this means both are ok)
5) replaced bitron
6) checked look connection in bottom right of fan housing
7) checked all fuses inside car

So based on above what on earth can be wrong with it?!

Could both still spin up when I bridge the green relay if there was a dodgy earth?

Does anything look wrong here? (Is this the earth? Fuse 8 is missing?)

Anything would be massively appreciated :-(

Cheers

Hi Cully, thanks i've been looking for that lol!

To top it all off i've just locked the car in the garage, with the garage keys in...

Dan's was off a working car so not 100% guaranteed but pretty unlucky!

the earths are just in front the battery on the chassis leg

your fuse box has an extra fuse fitted compared to mine but mine might be wrong who knows

you could try doing the A/C switch mod to use the ac button as the fan switch see if that forces the relays to power the fans

unplug A/C compressor white plug
unplug A/C pressure switch
bridge selected pins on the plug for the pressure switch

Fans worked on the car, used to sit at a steady 90 degrees in traffic. I think he did the fan mod as well though.

i sugest checking the two aditional loom plugs on the n/s chassis leg at low level these are the engine loom plugs but some fan controls and power run through them

please recheck fuse F2
even pull it out and replace it, check the ends arnt burned
use a multi metre to check it dont rely on a visual check as they can look good and still be bad

you wont have a dead earth as you can get both fans spinning via linking 3-5 on the relay base
both fans use the same earth point
