Finally got my blackmasks on and a custom badge to match the red Gti6 motifs
Rallye blanks will be going on when they arrive then need to see about getting my ph3 rubstrips painted and possibly the bumper if I can't find another mint one

Thats looking sweet mate Smile the only way your bumper will be mint is if you have it sprayed at least you know it's the best it can get then

+1.

Nile bumpers aren't easy to come by, plus any will have some damage. Best keeping your money and putting it towards the cost of a respray.

Hmm I think you're right guys. This bumpers got some pretty deep scratches so think I'll try finding a mint ph3 bumper then have it sprayed nile. Hopefully be lucky and come across some Peugeot old stock or something.

I'm pretty stoked with how it's turned out image wise, just sort of had an idea of what I thought would look good and hoped it would work in the flesh

Nice looking car! Nile is like Blaze, clean and polished and it's a million dollars. Neglected and dusty its like every other also-ran D-turbo out there.

Yours looks quality Cool

Cheers dude :-)

Never really liked nile until I got this one. Really grown on me since giving it a proper clean :-)

The initial coolant change seemed to have loosened up some residual muck so decided to flush, clean and refill the coolant for a second time. bottle of rad cleaner in, ran upto temperature then flushed out seemed to clear it pretty well Smile

Finally had enough cash to tax it on the weekend so going to be driving it to work this week to bed all the new suspension and brakes in, so far all is well

oh and I finally took delivery of my new bootbadge

thats it until after fcs now, ill be on the lookout for a mint front bumper to get sprayed and see about getting the paint bubble on the bootlid sorted hopefully by pugfest

Halfway through the first week of driving and now that everything's bedded in a bit, decided to open her up a bit on the way to work this morning, absolute dream to throw around a corner, totally in love haha.

One thing I have noticed however is its occasionally hard to get into gear when coming off full throttle, dreading that it's a cracked top engine mount cup.

Although come to think of it the bottom mount has probably seen better days so I might try replacing that first since I already have a bbm solid rubber one somewhere.

Any pointers on replacing the bottom engine mount in situ?

Replaced the boot badge:

in two minds about the chrome Peugeot letters, what do you think would be better? As it is or just leave the gti6 badge

Ordered some powerflex exhaust hangars that will hopefully centralise the back box again as some of you eagle eyed readers might have noticed :-P hopefully arrive before Saturday

Oh and replaced the roof console as the original was cracked and barely holding together

Cracking weekend at fcs as usual and a pretty good running in session for the gti6 :-P

Front row stand position

Pulled over after an epic drive home for a picture with matts rallye

Couldn't resist fitting some new shinies on Sunday so on went some Baker bm gear linkages, highly recommend these, changing gear feels like loading a rifle now :-D

Also noticed the exhaust keeps moving so rectified the problem with some poly exhaust hangars, absolute b**ch to fit but exhaust movement has been massively reduced :-)
Oh yeah, had the car on the ramp yesterday fitting new parts and seeing all was well after the fcs trip and I found this:

It wasn't a hole until I bashed it a bit and wire brushed it clean but looking under the car with a torch noticed a fresh looking patch of underseal and found it to be crusty underneath. The metal around it is still solid, just a 50p sized hole, cleaned it all off for now and coated it in primer, hopefully be able to get it welded this week and change the n/s cv boot that's developed a pinhole since fcs.

Welding booked for Saturday morning :-)

Changed the weeping cv boot last night, absolute joy to work on this car, everything greased up and comes apart effortlessly, took about 20 minutes from getting the wheel off to doing the hub nut back up haha

Went for a quick hoon across the border since it was a nice evening, going down through the gears coming to a roundabout something metallic fell off and heard it ping off down the road, nothing obviously broken or missing after a roadside inspection but still not something you want to hear whilst driving haha.

I'll investigate tonight
Well I've had a good look and nothings missing, must have just been a bolt or something I dropped in the undertray

Went for a hoon just to make sure

Early start today for gti6 surgery... massive thanks to my pal Jamtech motorsport for the welding (the guy who has got my 106 rallye as his next joCool

pictures:

treated the rest of the area you can see rust starting while it was all stripped back, now all seam sealed, primed, painted and stonechipped but no pictures of that because my battery died.

also cleaned up some more of the floor pan and under sealed down the sills and around the jacking points, starting to look pretty nice under the car now haha

Ordered some powerflex goodies to try minimalising all engine movement, I'll put it all on along with the quickshift and bin the aircon gubbins before pugfest, also got some engine parts going for powder coating in the next couple of weeks hopefully Smile

Just taking steps getting the car ready for a power increase you know Wink

So this happened today...

A good hour of smashing it with a club hammer and pry bar made short work of the standard bottom engine steady :p

Then in went the powerflex item, fair play to them, absolutely p**s easy to fix, just lube it up and slide in with your hands /in before giggedy

So far I think that's the best aftermarket mod I've done so far, it's an absolute joy to drive now, gear changes like loading a rifle, amazing throttle response and it's not even that bad for vibration despite being the hardest mount powerflex make, just a little buzz through the steering wheel on idle Smile

Good haul today :p

So I'll spill the beans now that I have the complete setup in my possession Big grin

Gsxr bodies machined to fit a cut down gti6 inlet manifold, all machined perfect fit with custom made (at great expense billet aluminium trumpets

Refurbished injectors, butterflies all property set up, takes standard throttle cable etc

Vauxhall Coilpack conversion, just add leads (designed to plug and play into omex loom iirc)

Brand new pipercross sausage filter and machined to fit backing plate. Everything is ready to bolt on, just saving up for mapping, planning on using the standard cams and ecu to start with (will need to talk to jp :p) then save up for aftermarket management, hotter cams, pistons, rods, arp studs, headwork, bottom end work, etc etc etc haha

Looking forward to the journey tbh
