Decided to do a couple of bits in preparation for pugfest tonight after work.

So bumper off

No picture because it's boring, but basically did some more rust prevention on the inner wings and crossmember

Anyway, reason for replacing the bumper

Swapping over rallye blanks, numberplate and gti splitter

And all done

Chris/Pebbles and I mentioned possibly doing a midlands mini meet some time after show season. It's his old car.
Be nice if you popped along!

Another brilliant outing at pugfest, even got to take the 6 up the hill for the first time Big grin

The hill highlighted one issue though, it's pretty hard to get into second gear when going flat out, think some gear linkage adjustment will be required, other than that though it was just a case of needing to learn the hill better haha

A few pictures that have appeared on Facebook

(nice one Anthony)

(thanks poodle)

Definitely need throttle bodies sooner rather than later, the bodied cars going up the hill sounded immense!
Traditional Prescot tripod picture.

Good pictures! Yeah they sounded awsome! And there was an other car (can't remember which one) which just had a filter and still sounded really awsome - not TB awsome, but not too far off!

Done a few interior bits tonight that I've been meaning to

And some black sunvisors, makes the interior that little bit better, going to do the interior light surrounds in gloss black at some point too

Some pictures now I have proper Internet.....
Powerflex Bumpstead...... Never fitted them before but looks easy enough

And my new project, which I can already see being a pain in the arse, the beginnings of roller bearing wishbones.....
Big plans for these which will eventually result in fully adjustable and extremely tough bottom arms

Bushes compared with an oem rubber type

And this is where work is required, you can see on the oem roller bush the centre is protruding which is what allows it to rotate in the subframe, an essential part that's missing from the solid version that will need solving with a spherical joint or something....

Potential business in the works if it's successful

Not had much going on with this recently, been too busy at work and stripping cars to even drive it, but since the dturbo is being broken I thought id put aside a couple of bits for the 6 Smile

Now my standard gti6 calipers with mintex pads are damned good, but not quite as good as 4 pots sooooooo

got full set of braided hoses to go on too, also going to pick up a few bottles of 5.1 fluid to give it that extra edge :p

also to go on if I feel like it, a 16 row oil cooler plus the bits that have arrived back from powdercoating, but the MOT is due next month so i'll just put it through as it is at the moment since its all 100% currently Smile

Picked up a couple of new additions Smile

Red PAS fluid cap just because

And a 406 v6 brake master cylinder to go with my brembos, all in the pursuit of that oem peddle feel lol. Hopefully clearance between the new MC and the bonnet won't be an issue

Finally got the brakes fitted along with 5.1 fluid, braided hoses front and rear. Stopping force is pretty impressive now!
Great day out at forge action day on the weekend, nice to chat to the people I saw
Had some real nice comments about the 6 which was a bonus of the day too

My new wheels also turned up on the weekend, was hoping to have them fitted for action day but I need more clearance over the brembos so looking into the proper hubcentric wheel adapter things as I'm not going to be happy to simply space them out more than 20mm

Looking forward to seeing this in the flesh on the 5th. Hear a lot about these 406 brembos. They off the v6?
