Looking forward to seeing this, I think I'm going to get some proper threaded ends welds onto my swirl pot and fuel rail

I suspect the pickup tube has a 90 degree bend so that it picks up from the bottom.

I've been told the pickup does run to the bottom internally, as I asked the same question when I looked at it Smile

On my swirl pots the pick-up tube goes right to the bottom.

It also has a baffle welded onto the pick-up tube - which is pressed out of a circular piece of stainless steel, into a lamp-shade profile.

This is used to deflect any bubbles (that may be pumped into the swirl pot via the in-tank pump for example) away from the pick-up location.

Cool

They are made of stainless steel buddy. More chance of something puncturing the fuel tank than getting through one of Rich's swirl pots Yes They are rather beautifully made too, bit of a shame to put it under the car Doh

Here are a few pics of my setup :-)

I went for :

Alloy fuel swirl pot nm-6 inlets and nm-8 outlet
Nm-6 hose and short piece of nm-8 hose
Fittings
Bosch 044 fuel pump
Sytec f1 bullet fuel filter

I used these fittings to join the return from the swirl pot back to the tank same fitting used on the feed from the tank

The same fitting will join onto the original fuel filter

From the Bosch pump I routed it threw the hole that was used for the spare wheel, then to the original fuel filter

From the original fuel return line I used this connection to join into it then back to the swirl pot

This is how it will look , but I'm going to extend the fuel return line to the swirl pot so I can run t round by the other two hoses

Later on I'll show how I wired the pump up

Awesome work but have you used a grommet where it passes through the spare wheel hole?
if not I'd suggest using a grommet to stop it rubbing thru over time on the thin bare metal or getting cut in 2 if somebody rear ends the car hard.
You may have to drill the hole out bigger to fit a grommet in there looking at it.

It will smell, the petrol vapour permeates the rubber hose and lets out the petrol smell sooner or later, it's not leaks from the connections you need to worry about. They normally put a disclaimer on the box or in the sales ad, saying not suitable for use inside the cabin if it's the non PTFE stuff.

Decided now to go with the Teflon stainless braided fuel hose inside car , if I'm going to it proberly might aswell do propa job, if you going to do it do it right:-) , so Teflon hose and fittings turned up today so will change that over weekend

The hose that I did use to start with I'm going to use to replace the original fuel line from rail back to tank , so the whole system will be braided:-) just need to weld some fitting onto the fuel rail connections
