I've got 415lb front springs on Gaz Golds and I'm going to have 30mm ARB and 23.5 bars on the rear, but I don't think that the B6's I've got on the rear will be upto the job, think they may be too crashy. Anyone got any experience with this setup/what shocks I should go for?

Yeah I've seen a few with that setup but then I remember reading a thread somewhere of another shock that's meant to be much better. I just can't remember what thread or who said it! I'm not sure if it was just Gaz Gold's on the rear aswell

B6 Bilstein dampers all day long for tarmac Gp N type.

Gaz suspension are one of the worse to buy, rust up in no time which causes problems im told.

B6s are nowhere near up to controlling 23.5mm bars niether are the grpNs. If it's a circuit car gaz golds or 306 tarmac bilsteins would be a much better choice at the cheaper end of the scale.
I'd also be tempted to go bigger than 23.5mm bars if its a dedicated circuit car.

Wouldn't touch gaz's ever they are just s**te ime, rust up seize etc. B6 are classed as gp N's tarmacs aren't they, least that's what was on the advert when I bought mine LOL

Mine has 22mm bars and works fine on track with a 24mm arb. My B6's are really firm but they are new ones, but mine is a road and track car.

B6's are far from Tarmac spec of anything nor should they be listed that way, They are soft and not that great for anything other than road use,
You can get the Group N type rebuilt now which is handy

Took my B6's off as they were far to soft for my supercharged car in comparison to the front and the rear was bouncing all over the place. As Ross rightly says I now have a set of GAZ golds on the rear and its made such a difference to the car. I put them on 2 days before pugfest and several people commented on how quick mine was up the hill, they transformed the handling.
Even with them set on about 15 clicks out of about 40 they are solid enough but not so hard their bouncy over bumps round corners. I'd choose them again every time. And yes I've heard that the shiny surface on them is prone to rusting after time but that's only an issue with the fronts as the thread can seize. On the rears there's nothing to seize up... And they have massive covers over them anyway.

I forgot to message you but cheers for the reply, it makes sense that they would .arch with my front shocks. Where you get them from and how much, I can't seem to find the rears on their own

Gp N type ones below.

http://www.kamracing.co.uk/peugeot-205-gti-bilstein-group-n-tarmac-damper-with-eibach-springs.html

My mistake, I now remember I bought the Gp A ones and thought they were classed as the B6 versions Unsure

I know its the 205 ones but the use the same type of chassis. If you want quality that lasts buy German, want s**t buy British made Gaz imo.

I've got grpAs(2313s) on the back of my 21mm bar'd 205 rally car, they're good but only last around 4 events before they need replacing (servicing cost around the same price as a new pair!). I've got gaz golds on the rear of my 25mm bar'd 309, they control the rear really well on circuit and surprisingly good on the road and they'll last a long time due to the application they're used in.
I wouldn't put the grpAs on my 309 as they wouldn't be up to it in my opinion, I'd be looking at 306 grpAs for that but I believe they'd have to be special ordered from bilstien.

2313s would probably be ok with 23.5mm bars, I think Martin (crf450) ran some on the rear of his 306 for a bit.

That will most likely attract a lot more dirt to them and decrease their lifespan.

Mines hardly used in the winter but have already covered them in grease Thumbs up

And previous versions of them didn't have covers the newest ones do. Think they finally realised not having them was a stupid retarded idea. They look the same as the lesser GAZ Shocks which are cheaper but have poly bushes and stiffer adjustment settings.

JamieK I'll PM you where I got them from. Wink

I've got tarmac spec billies on my road car with std torsion bars and a hybrid ARB. I love 'em, not harsh, but really well controlled/damped.
