Did you fit yours yourself?

Yeh I fitted it myself. Took quite a bit of time to get it right and getting the right position on the tunnel to put the rods through. Then obviously have to make it water tight and ridy it up etc. I ended up boxing it in rather than just leaving the holes in the bulkhead/firewall.

Would love to see a few pics of how you did it if its no too much trouble. I'd like to see if the holes can be sealed with some split grommets I found.

Il try and grab some later on when I go out to do a few bits. Well, a lot of bits. You wont make it seal with grommets, as there is to much movement side to side on the top rod. Its a surprisingly bigger hole than the rod itself to accommodate the movement.

As I said, ive boxed mine in, and then used two gaiters attached to a lip I put on the box section I put in. Il get some pictures this afternoon if I can still bend under the dash.

Is there side to side movement on the rods through the bulkhead , or just back and forward with a little bit of rotation as well?

there is a bit on one yes.

CV boots is what is included with the 106/saxo kit, one around the main stick and one around the smaller forward rod, the long thicker rod is under the car.

All the round bits are tubular, the quadrant isn't light but its sturdy enough.

Does weigh more than standard, but standard is very flimsy with plastic and bent bits of tin and plastic bushes, not rose joints and cartridge bearings!

Here are a few quick snaps I got earlier. Couldn't really get too great a shot tho...

They should give you some sort of idea. I cant really get in to take a picture of the quadrant on the subframe and the linkages etc, just too fiddly to get the camera under there at the moment while im wrestling with the steering arms and anti roll bar....

Edit: It also helps if you have a handy old rotivator that you can rob the handle from to make up a reverse cable lifter! haha.

I can't remember what I discussed with colin when I ordered it. I told him it was for a 306. Although at the time I was running a be3 5 speed box.

I have since moved on to a 6 speed dog box and didn't have to change anything. If anything it fitted better as i didnt have to weld the extra bit onto the selector arm of then new box to bolt the rose joint to. The new box accomodates the bolting of a rose joint as standard.

On a standard 306 box, you will need to weld a supplied tube over the round selector arm, and also drill a hole on the other arm to bolt the sideways movement rod onto. Il admit to having 2 attempts at that when i drilled the arm on my original box!!

Yeah, once you've seen it go up and down the box twice I think you'll get the gist.
