Why dont you sort something out with it like 1 vote per week or 1 vote per member and voting starting the last week of each month

That would solve many many problems in life if people in the world would just do that Stan.

Is it abuse?
One angle is maybe he deserves it for speaking so truthly about it all, had he not done so, i doubt ash would have appeared to fix it.

Secondly we are here because most dont believe he shouldnt have been banned, due to the fact that speaking up on a forum which is DESIGNED for debate should not be a bannable offense.

It's abuse when one member alone thanks someone 226 times in one month. Yes

Ok, so let's sum this up. Yes

1. People got annoyed because the edit function was broken.

2. Owain spoke out, for whatever reason (it doesn't matter anymore now) was placed on a ban.

3. Owain finished his ban and the edit function has been fixed.

4. No need for anymore complaining, let's just all get on with life once again.

Thumbs up

That's exactly what it is though - black and white.

Pay and use it, or don't pay and go somewhere else. They are the two choices any one of us have. Yes

You talk about responsibility to customers, that's fine. What happens if you don't like the recipe in the burgers at McDonalds? If you complain, will they change it for you? You have a choice to go there or not. If you don't like what they do, go and try Burger King, they may cater better for your needs. I'm saying the same thing here. This is what we do, if you don't like it go and try PSCUK for example. Just because people complain doesn't always mean things get changed just because you're the customer and you've highlighted an issue.

I've written to Sainsbury's before because they suddenly stopped selling a packet mix I particularly liked. The response I got back was "that particular line is now discontinued, however we're happy to be able to offer you 'xxxx' as a similar alternative which is currently available on our shelves."

I'm their customer, but effectively they told me I couldn't have what I wanted regardless of whether or not I wrote a letter of complaint. This "customer responsibility" line is all very well but for £5 a year I don't think as a customer you're going to have a revolution to have it 'your way'.

As you've said previously mate, it's Ash's football and we've all got to remember that. Wink

Every customer has a right to complain if something isn't working correctly or isn't available. But what are sainsbury's going to do? Place us on the naughty step or ban us from every store because we complained about their choice to remove a product?!!
The point here is that Owain complained, but got 'banned' for raising a widely shared opinion.

Reading through the 'family complaint' is just about as bad as schools removing 'Baa baa black sheep' and changing it to 'coloured sheep'; It's silly - didn't/shouldn't offend anyone, yet do we have to fret about it because it might mildly insult someone?! No

It seems freedom of speech in this country is becoming a struggle...

This is exactly the point, and the above is wrong.

Owain wasn't 'banned' for raising a widely shared opinion, he was 'banned' after raising it, being told the issue would be dealt with (by Ash) and then rather than leaving it carried on insulting Ash effectively "squaring up" to him in the middle of the thread.

What kind of treatment would one expect if you went into a restaurant, ordered some food and it was taking too long for your liking, so you got up, complained, shouted at the manager insulting him and then squared up to him?

I would expect the Police to be called and you escorted off the premises personally, and that's all that happened here.

Im sorry but this is bulls**t.
Owain didnt really insult him or square up to him did he. Thats a bit of an exagerration.
Nothing he said was personal or infact even open for debate, it was all pretty much fact.
I cant see this getting anywhere tbh we might as well draw a line under it and hope such bad forum management doesnt occur again.....

I disagree, Owain raised a few points but really took the p**s by going on and on and on about it. I'm not surprised one bit he had a temporary ban and think it was fully justified.

edit: and I like butter popcorn but sweet will do. Never understood how people eat the salty stuff.

Stan I to have emails to SAINSBURY'S about discontinued products, my product made a short lived return then went again was down to the demographics of my store. You should've tried other stores locally or afar as I did. We should compare correspondance.
