Looking to get an aftermarket wheel for my 6.

Seen a few that I like, just can't decide on what size would be best.

There are options of 300mm, 330mm and 350mm for the ones I like.

Anybody got any experience of any of these size wheels, and any pics? Think the OEM wheel is closer to 350mm than anything.

Really like the look of the 300mm one, but worried it might be a bit too small!

Cheers

Ash

I just thought buddy reference to this, how about measuring your wheel and comparing sizes that way?

I do believe this is all down to personal preference

300mm will be wayyyyy too small imho

330mm wasn't too bad, when i fitted one in my rallye

but i currently have a 350mm, which is very good tbh (available for sale very soon)

Yeah think I'll go for either the 330 or 350.

Could well be interested in the wheel if you sell.

330 gets my vote, the Sparco one with a 90mm dish combined with a 50-60mm boss suited me perfectly.

I'd go leather over suede on a daily driver if I did it again though as sweaty hands turn suede pretty grim in no time.

Am i the only person tempted to try and fit a wheel from a later peugeot? I like this one. You would need metal monkey dils probably for it to look anywhere near decent though.

Looking at the later type steering wheels, wouldn't the cable for the airbag be different?

Airbag is only two wires, I dare say it could be overcome if the connector was different Wink

Thats what i thought. Only issue i can think of would be the current/voktage etc etc being different, if it is at all. Are airbags a standard shape or completely differenet brand to brand?

Voltage would be something i'd question too, i guess the only way would be to measure the voltage coming to the airbag on the donor car somehow.
Also don't the response time and size and shape of the airbag change depending on car?

After a bit of research It looks like both the 306 and rcz wheel fix to (Whatever?) with a single screw in the centre of the same size and dimensions.
SO i assume liek above the only barrier would be the airbage voltage etc.
Aside from the fact that the drivers aibag (Wheel centre) is 280 quid alone for a rcz :O

Fix to the centre of the column?

You'd have to hope the splines were the same also. Doubt they would differ, but you never know.

Yeah, I just saw that theres a smaller diameter flat bottomed alcantara one too Ninja

Tbh I think the best option will be to just get the normal 306 one retrimmed in leather of a decent quality though
