They are what i call the budget entry level, you don't find anyone in top line Motorsport using them, Mind they are really dampers so anyone that call them 'shock's is worrying, LOL

Theres nothing wroung with Gaz coilovers just that a lot of members on here dont like them yet many have never fitted them trouble is a lot of members on here are like sheep when one says Gaz coilovers are crap all the others just agree bah b ah bah.
I also just like yourself looked into this before buying a set of Gaz Gold coilovers the product itself i cannot fault however you must get them set up otherwise your car will be all over the place which is what i had yet no one on here could advise me on the best setting to have them on yet many say there no good etc yet never fitted them.Theres a chap on here called rallyash who has a Gaz GHA kit on his track car and has never had any issues with them seems to me the guys that have issues with them are the ones who never fitted them

Don't buy Gaz. Get some Billies!

Absolutely no need for coilovers if its for any type of road going car.

Except if you rally maybeDunno

When you look at proper dampers (Not shocks) you will see a huge difference in performance, How many people on here Race on them (Winning) trackdays are just that, not completive and very few even have the pace of Race driver's
you pay for what you get, Peanut's = monkeys

Still haven't seen anything to back up your 235 claim. You got conclusive proof on suspension now too?

They're ok, better than a lot of the crap about and work fine for what most people need. I have what I have because I get it at a great price and it mostly works when the spring rates are ok.

konis and billies are standard diameter springs and will knock you back about £550-600.

pugsport stuff will be around £1400, AST about £1200.

VMAX GMAX SPAX etc are to be avoided.

Use?

Road
Rally
Track
Race?

You really wouldn't want to run a proper race setup on the roads....tbh, for fit-and-forget road use just bang some B6's on and be done.

Exactly. Lots of people want to buy coilovers so they can say ' I've got coilovers on it'

If its going on a track then fair enough go for it.

But if you never do track days or motorsport then why bother ? As philipm says ' fit and forget' some decent quality struts and springs. Job Done.

Who adjusts their road car suspension enough to warrant coilovers?

Miles is a Gent i have picked his brain a few times and he is always willing to help whenever i call him .Like a lot of matters regarding opinion its a matter of choice if Miles opinion is Gaz are no good hes entitled to it.I can say from experience due to fitting the Gaz gold kit on my car i find them to be a quality product and exellent value for the price.

furthermore i think if we listen to the opinions on here about gaz, the designers must of had a brain fart when it came to pugs and especially the 306 gti, as the rest of the car world just seem to do just fine on them!!! even my mates renault 5 maxi runs gaz, so does his turbo 2 and also my mates 106 rally car so surey they cant be that bad plus they aint cheap etither!!
