it is expensive though as you know. im hoping to stay low boost as long as possible, only if it breaks or i get bored will i go high, but high is definitely there in the back of my mind so chances are it will happen

m306 - I also thought I would be low boost for a long time. When I was building it I thought surely I could never get bored of 260bhp in my '6'.

Within 6 months parts were being bought and a new engine built ready for high boost...LOL

It's like an addiction and once you've upgraded it doesn't take long before you need a larger dose to get the same buzz. Yes

Just 6 months, wow that's not long. I hope I can resist the temptation for atleast a year. I can understand the need for more power and how addictive it is, my original plan was to leave it completely standard but that lasted just one week LOL when I got Rich's pulleys.

It's a shame your not taking yours to pugfest this year, I'd love to see it. As far as I know you and me are the only 2 using blue masks Smile

I would have took mine to Pugfest, but as you know I have put it into hibernation for a year or two now, so no can do this year. Maybe in the future who knows?

Yeah hopefully in the future I will get to see it. What's your daily driver then? I guess anything else must seem slow in comparison?

Are you going to pugfest? Surely even without taking the 6 you should still go? Maybe you could do like Pugplus and wear a named shirt so people know who you are to thank you for all the help, like Pugplus Whistle

I am planning to make an appearance at Pugfest, obviously, just not with the car.

My daily drive is my work van, I don't really need anything else. I must admit, after I haven't driven the '6' for a while, when I get back in it, it does take some getting used to!!

I'll bear the "name" t-shirt in mind mate...LOL

True, although the last time my '6' was running was the 21st September 2011 so its hard to remember exactly what it goes like, or sounds like regarding the topic of this thread! LOL

I really dont see why you wouldnt have a custom exhaust built for a low boosted 6 rather than buy an off the shelf pipe

Sorry but really not a fan of the blue masks either LOL

I was tempted to go for a custom built exhaust with mine before I opted for the jetex. I can understand going custom because then you can have a system that is the exact spec that you are after, it can be hard to find an off the shelf one to suit specific requirements, I think

Is that from the ProSpeed rally guys, or ebay special?

Yes, when I run mine with the Devil Decat, Magnex centre section and Magnex 4" backbox it is 98dB. This is the setup I have to revert to when doing trackdays. Yes

strangely, i found my car failing the MOT with my sports CAT, could only get through with a normal CAT.

so even with a sports CAT, i was no better off legally than using a decat. Sadly £290 down the drain as i think mine has just gone. Oh well, time to get a decat me thinks Smile
