Either that, or a new bin bag in really strange packaging.

The half shaft is hiding in the other bag to the left.

Not sure on fit ment at the hub end due to the length of the Dimma shaft.

Looking good dan, I'm interested in the gearbox and clutch setup you end up using, can't wait to see a vid/hear it running, going to sound awsome this, you've taken your time but as they say "the best things Come to those who wait"

I'm hopefully getting a twin plate clutch tomorrow, if I do, then it will be full steam ahead with the rebuild.

I've been putting it off untill I bought a clutch, as that was the most expensive bit to buy, but I've come across a 2nd hand one, which will save a good chunk of money.

Well I've won the clutch Smile

It was removed from an escort cosworth rally car with 480ftlb of torque, so when I've had the splines changed over to match my ml box I know it will handle the power I will be throwing at it.

List of things to do is as follows:
Modify inlet manifold
Figure out how I will fit the new box and shafts
Figure out how I will make up a hydraulic clutch pedal
Buy some decent boost pipes for welding
Work something out with a radiator, I don't think the standard one will cope
Paint engine bay
Fit and wire up my Ecu
Get it bed in and mapped Smile

You can buy new plates with the correct splines for not a great deal of dosh, unless that's what you mean? Do the ML boxes have the same splines as BE boxes?

I'll look forward to seeing your efforts trying to cool it all...

nope, ML is a bigger 21 spline input shaft, BE is the same as an MA, 18 spline.

ML is found in lots of stuff, typically 2.0 turbo DW10's in bigger cars, 8v turbo and above, V6 etc, 1.9 DT van's upwards.

MA is the chocolate teapot TU gearbox.

Pete - I can't remember how much i was quoted for having the splines replaced, but it was certainly a lot cheaper than having the whole plate made up. New plates are around £100 each from CG.motorsport in Leeds. I need to see how much meat is left over before I decide on changing the splines mind, it might be more economical just to replace them both.

Any advice on cooling ? I'm sure you had some sort of Uprated cooling system in your btcc car.

Mei - I'm hoping the gearbox will be upto the job over the 6 box, I'm worried if I go to the effort of fitting it with the new clutch and getting the hydraulics sorted out I won't be able to get a diff for it Unsure

Cosmic spanner had a custom rad of some sort i believe?
You could fit 2x12" fans too.
1x12 inch flows nearly as much as 2x10" Comparing Spal to Spal in each case.

I think I will just end up getting a custom rad, from memory I had a quote for £275, but that was a while ago.

I do have a universal alloy race rad, but it's a bit big, and it looks a bit s**t and flimsy, so I doubt I will use it.
