I've got a set of C5 steelies, which after a work out around the 'Ring last year, have got a heavy 'dusting'.

I eventually got around to giving then some attention the other weekend, but perhaps unsuprisingly, Autoglym Clean Wheels didnt touch it. Any suggestions?

Patio cleaner/brick acid works well. It's hydrochloric acid so don't get it in your eyes!! get it cheap from builders merchants and dilute it 50% with water.

Hydrochloric acid on C5 alloys? Rather you than me!

There's some stuff called Iron-X that's mean to convert iron oxide dust from brake discs and pads, never tried it myself though.

Me and my mate went to the ring last year, about 1 month after he refurbed his wheels in white.

The brake dust will not come off the front wheels at all.

Looks like he'll have to redo them LOL
