1. Astra 1.6 g reg
2. Nissan sunny m reg
3. Fiesta tdci 04
4. Fiesta rs turbo (1400 per year)
5. Alfa 147
6. Alfa 156
7. More saabs than I could count
8. Astor 6 (still 1400 a year)
9. Bianca 6

11. Today, Golf gttdi (insurance renewal 1455, you work it out)

I have an accident, points and a ban so that doesn't help my price but seriously! Shopping around this time which is a shame as I like brentacre and I know they will cover my golf mods cheaply....

All expired due to HG/overheating issues. Of course 2 were 205's. Best was the last one that lasted 90 miles.

I have 2 mates that have had over 20 cars and both have been driving 5-6 years! Roll eyes

Jamma - There is a '01 (Y) in Diablo on Auto Trader (that I really want like) is it worth paying the extra £45 Road tax just to have an 'end of the line'?

I can guarentee that the car will have been built the best part of a year before it was registered like Jamma's was. Not sure why people think as it's a Y reg that they were the last as they weren't. So not worth the tax as what benefit is there.

Jamma built 13 April 2000
Thug built 1st October 2000 my tax cheaper for a car that sat less time rotting prior to being registered.

Driving for 10 years:

Peugeot 205 gti 1.9 (excellent)
Rover 220 gti (quite good - HG went)
Rover coupe 220 turbo (very quick)
Vauxhall Vectra SRi (not bad / not good)
Alfa Romeo 156 (great car)
Citroen Saxo vts (quick but really poor quality car)
Ford Escort (reliable but boring and rusty)
Renault Laguna (comfy but boring)
Peugeot 306 XSi (great fun)
Peugeot 306 GTi-6 (great fun)
Renault Megane (still got) (painfully slow but safe)

in the last 18 months:

BMW 323ci (good all round)
Saab 9-3 Aero (very fast but laughable torque steer)
Subaru WRX (good handling, not as quick as I thought)
BMW 320d (shit)
Audi A4 (shit but solid and reliable)
