I think I did, but I don't think I ever had the proper box for it, so it's not impossible the correct one got lost along the way.

Normally I just wait until the girlfriend is in and make her do it Yes

Sound like a method of contraception. Which would also not work.

Jus t buy an easibleed kit from halfrauds and be done with it, it'd much quicker and easier to bleed the system! Only cost about ~ £17 well worth it IMO! Wink

Do they actually work as well as pumping the pedal? A person's foot can put exert an awful lot of pressure.

Work very well tbh, provided you can get the right seal.

Mine doesn't have a high flow rate when bleeding the rear calipers, I guess due to the lines being a lot longer than the fronts.

This is using the recommended 20psi in the tyre. I dare not use more as I don't want to risk spraying brake fluid everywhere.

I pumped the pedal at the same time as using the bleeder to help it along.

Sounds rubbish to me.

Is there much point using it at all if you're pumping the pedal as well?

That's just a pot with a bit of pipe on it. I use a bit of old washer hose and a Robinsons bottle for the same purpose, and they're free Yes

I didn't have either of those things, so to buy robinsons would have cost me £2 and had no pipe...so was easier to get that!

Rubbish, you can get a litre of orange & mango (no added sugar) for £1 at Tesco, I have four bottles downstairs in the kitchen and another six on my desk at work.

Luckily, I have a (soft) drink problem, so bottles are pretty easy to come by.

Naaaa, it's all chemicals and other such e-numbered goodness. Yes I'll probably grow another head but it's got about 80 calories in an entire bottle.

Erm, back on topic, erm - I wonder how many calories are in RBF660 as a comparison?

Drink it and find out, if you suddenly put on 10 stone and look bloated in the morning we'll know.
I have a feeling it might be a good diet actually, and you'll end up pretty damned skinny by this time next year...

You don't need to pump the pedal with a pressure bleeder that's the whole point!Roll eyes

I said that the flow rate was very slow, so pushed the pedal to speed things along!

I could have used more pressure like Phil but didn't want to blast brake fluid over my engine bay.

^There's so much free space in my engine bay it probably wouldn't hit anything anyway!

True you don't if you are just changing the fluid, but if you have air in there it helps to displace air bubbles and it tells you in the instructions to pump the pedal if you have difficulty bleeding

Well I used the gravity method in the end and even though I bled it through last time until there was straight fluid seeping out, this time even though there was no air leak in the system, some more bubbles came out as I cracked the bleed valves and then I let a fair bit of fluid to seep through just to be sure there was no more air in them.

The result is a very firm pedal, so much so that I cannot push the pedal any measurable distance when the servo is off (but this is with braided hoses as well). So although some people have said the gravity method doesn't work I can happily say that, in my experience at least, it does Smile Certainly saves a lot of hassle with pumping the pedal and buying a bleed kit!
