Im struggling with my DS2500's again, last time it felt like the system needed bleeding, anyhow after a few laps of snetterton, I had no pad left. Been on stardard pads for a while and now got my next trackday sorted.

Ferodo replaced the DS2500's so just fitted the new ones but still not sure on them, dont seem to be giving a firm pedal feel in comparison to the standard units, even after bedding them in.

Anyone else having issues? Just cannot figure it out, but no good sticking with standard as Ill have brake fade after a lap or 2.

Are they the ones that cover the full disc? Could be interested. Tried the 1144 and wasnt impressed. Then had about 3 or 4 sets of the DS2500's and all have been great up until the last 2 sets!

Daft question, but are you sure you haven't cooked your brake fluid? Or is pedal feeling restored by switching pads?

You'll also need to buy clay bars by the pallet load to keep the bodywork dust free!

Ive got DS2500's on both my cars, one is the type that covers the entire disc and the other is the normal smaller size. I havent had issues with either set although they wont have been made recently, ive had one set on for a couple of years now and the other set were bought as new but unused from someone on here so i have no idea when they would have been bought/made originally.

Admittedly they do eat discs, but not as bad as u say... personally i think its a trade off Ferodos recently seem to fall apart as soon as they've had a half decent heat cycle, and admittedly RC 6's do make a bit of a mess BUT they are awesome even on standard calipers although as was pointed out they do eat discs but if the car only really does Trackdays and the journey to and from then the "eating discs" is inevitable. At the end of the day they're a consumable part which can be picked up relatively cheaply, and if u do trackdays and expect not to do consumables in on a regular basis maybe u shouldn't be doing them.... Just my 2p's worth! Wink

Where and how much are the RC6 pads?

I must admit, Im tempted to try another compound pad, be it the m1155 or whatever. Just a shame the ds2500's have changed, had about 3 years using them without issue, then the last 2 sets in the last 12 months have just been crap!

I've used 2500's for a couple of years with no probs but has to get some good fluid, plus I ran mine down less than 3mm of pad and it buggered my disc, I'm now running ds3000's. Havnt track'd them yet but have done a couple or 130+-0mph stops with not a hint of fade. They better work well for nearly £160 a set. Will let you know how they are on the ring in a couple of weeks

Well I was told they fitted, ordered them and when they turned up pit them back to back with the old pads and they're as near as exactly the same back plate etc ..... Strange but true!

I think its a similar thing to 406 calipers, most use the same ones which afaik use the same back plate as the gti6, and they're another £20 more LOL
