Out of interest Ash, how much does your race car weigh now?

Just stripped more out of the car I suppose:
At 930kg the car still had all metal panels, but the bonnet, tailgate and doors had been cut away so they were all single skin. No hinges on bonnet or tailgate, just pins. Even door hinges have been reduced to half the original size.

Plastic windows, all wiring loom removed and I have run a very basic set of wires for lighting etc in addition to the Emerald ECU and engine loom.

No interior whatsoever apart from T45 Custom Cage, lightweight bucket seat harness and fire extinguisher. No dash at all, just AIM all-in-one from a Seat Cup race car.

Still running original PAS and Brake Servo in addition to my 330mm RS Brembo kit which is lighter than the original kit.

17x8" TD PR 1.2 wheels and ex BTCC 235/610/17 tyres probably weigh the same or slightly less than std wheels and tyres.

I'm in the process of getting carbon fibre / kevlar panels made at NUR which will hopefully reduce the weight to 900kg which is the goal.

Two years ago I got the weight down to 880kg by running a rotrex supercharged MI16 block stroked to 1599cc with a 205 crank, 83.5mm bore and GTI6 head (250bhp) with no PAS or brake servo. This engine minus std GTI6 head, rebuilt as a 1905cc with Wossner forged pistons, new bearings and extensive sump baffling is for sale for £500 but needs a new block as it cracked as I torqued the head down with ARP head bolts.

I have the Kevlar backed fg bonnet, dimma front wings and bumper and the Kevlar backed cf dimma rear quarters, skirts, tailgate and bumper, just waiting on the Kevlar/cf doors. I'll post pics but only when finished.
Btw I went for glass green thermoformed polycarbonate windows from p4p.

To go below 900kg is not a question of what to take out, it is a question of what to leave:

Windows finally arrived from P4P after six weeks but it was worth the wait, excellent quality.
Still waiting for the CF doors from NUR that I paid for over four months ago! Would I recommend them.... I'd like to as Noel is a lovely guy but the Jury is out on that decision (and maybe in reality if I don't get them or my money back and some other parts that are due very very quickly)

hmm, i found a supplier for CF doors [phase1] when i was looking but you had to buy a certain type of front window [the P4P stuff wouldn't fit - maybe they bonded onto the outside of the skin into a recess Unsure]. i shall have another look

eitherway, didn't wanna lose my P4P front windows/vents so left it
