Will be fitting these next weekend along with wishbones, track rod ends, droplinks, B4 Bilstien's and strut mounts.

Fitted all the other bit's before just not the track rods just wondered if there's anything worth knowing before I start the job probably on a cold rainy Saturday morning.

alot easier than trying to remove the TRE from the old track rod, normally requires heat

I need to get these changed on mine. There's slight play in the current ones. Hope the play isn't too excessive for the MOT tester on WednesdayLOL

Stilsons/grips according to users on hereSmile

Thought I was going to have to remove my drivers side one when TRE was seizedAngry luckily came undone with some heatWink

Looked at removing mine, but as you say not much roomBlink I reckon on full lock and go at it from under the front wheel arch will give you best chance/most roomWink

Handy thread, I got an advisory for this last week on the n/s. Was just looking for a post like this when someone bumped it to the top.

I wonder if it's any easier on the HDi. Hmm

theres no way room for a hammer LOL

getting a new track rod tonight

(reason im replacing it is that theres is excess movement in the joint on the actual track rod)

done passenger side last night, had a new rubber sleave to go with it (got it off peugoet a while back).

took heap of pictures, basicly you need to change the steering wheel position so it moves your wrack.

for passenger side i had steering on hard left.

thus letting me see the knuckle of the rod a bit better and get vice grips in from underneath subframe, loosen it like normal.

rubber sleave i put in boiling hot water to loosen it up and it pops on reasonably easy
