im surprised how many people have their seats mounted on top of the central tunnel and cills - thats higher than standard - I already struggle with head room with a helmet on.

I have some seats and when i get round it will be fab'ing up some custom mounts to fix it off the floor - just to get that extra head room.

At the top it does say "in progress" Laugh

Basically, everything from behind front seats is gone, and in the front, most is still there.

It's not fully stripped. When I fitted the buckets, I still had rear trim, parcel shelf in etc. It's only since that I have started removing more. Rest will be coming out at some point I'm sure.

A lot of effort gone into these cars Cool but I think these two are falling down on a basic safety issue -

No? Unsure

(I might be wrong)

Nothing wrong with attaching them to the floor, spines are overrated anyway.

Yeah, got it in one! The angles of those harnesses bolted to the floor look worrying - I thought they should be horizontal (or max 30 degrees from horizontal?)

Na, someone posted up the FIA rules recently - 10 degrees off horiozontal is recommended, 45 degrees is the acceptable limit if I remember correctly.

It's not a legal issue, it's just that in a crash you have a lot of force trying to turn you into a midget, tis all. Personally I wouldn't do it, but in 99.9% it's still better than having a standard seatbelt in a big off.

as above, its fine to run them as in the pics. In the blue book it gives a range of the acceptable angles in the safety section.

I know it's not a legal issue. But yeah it's the issue of crushing your spine - met a guy in a wheelchair who suffered this exact fate with the harnesses bolted to the floor behind his seat. Sad

Just looked it up, it's the harness manufacturer that recommends less than 20*! You can kinda see the logic though
