Dont quote me on this - but i believe the iPhone has decibel meter on it.

Just get them to replicate your standard trackside test - 2/3 revs etc

The iPhone app is poo. My cars loud but at one meter facing the poo shoot it reads 103 which is max until you change the parameters to 105. Not a good app, if it was stronger it would probably measure my bike at 400 decibels!

Yeah have booked a little outing at Woodbridge next month for a bit of fun (cant afford it but what the hell LOL) but am now wondering if my exhaust will be too loud Doh

I will get my sister to get the app on her iphone and see what it says. I have some guidlines on where to stand so lets just hope the phone is fairly accurate Smile

Maplins sell a proper db Meter for about 15 quid, actually the same model I saw them using at Cadwell Park the other day LOL

Bear in mind, though, these cars are quite as fook on a static test (mine was a church-mouse 80ish dB LOL) bit different once you're on the move and Mr Boost pops in to say hello Devil

I think the Nokia 6250 dB meter was fairly accurate if you happen to have an old one knocking around Laugh

Hopefully Yes My exhaust sounds like an earthquake around town though. When you open it up out on the road it sounds like a star exploding LOL But so lovely Love

So i would be revving to 2/3 of max revs right, thats about 5200rpm, i will see tonight how loud that is to the ear Smile Do they measure the noise at the revs below too or just the reading at that point?

Cheers all Thumbs up

dont think i would stand a chance of passing at 5200rpm... my flatmate just started my 6 up on the drive and rolled it forward about 20 yards and even when it was nowhere near the house it was still just as loud in my bedroom at the back of the house... lol

I think all my neighbors must hate me LOL

Also when he asks you for you rev limit , hel tell you to rev to 3 ¼ of it or say to hold it at 5k revs.

As he goes round to exhaust you rev up and only hold it at 4k LOL

Thumbs up
