Hi all,

Tempted on getting one for the Hdi, what are peoples general thoughts on them? I get the vibe on here they are worthwhile mod, any negatives? How does it affect day to day driving?

Thanks in advance,

Matt

As Rick said, most of the time you won't even know it's there, until you start really leaning on it in the corners. I got the mahoosive 30mm one in mine and it makes it corner flat as a pancake. You need to do something to stiffen up the front though too if you plan to fit a really big ARB in the back.

As in upgrading to hard shocks, I am running Eibach pro spring and new OE shocks.

I think I am just going to source one of Ash's ARB's, it sounds just what I need. Thanks for the information.

You still get that unless you sort the front end at the same time, all that weight transfer towards the front makes it impossible to stop roll just by fitting a humungous ARB, are you on coilovers? If so get some 500-600 lbs springs up front, pancaketastic.

As Daveyboy says, that's roll at the front that's the problem, not the rear.
If they're coilovers 2.25" springs should fit.

yeah probably too fast! You can't see but the corner is tightening up into a right hairpin coming back on itself, hence the lock.

There is a smaller spring which sits on top of the main sprint will this need replacing too?

How much would a thicker front arb and strut brace help with handling? dont really get talked about much on here.

Lotek does'nt believe in strut braces, his car handles worse with one fitted!

As fur uprated front ARBs Phillip M is the suspension gnu, if he does'nt make something I bet he knows where you can get one. (Polybushing the ARB bushes is a goiod start though)

Conversely I find mine much better with a lower brace LOL
It is quite dependent on tyres and preference when it comes to toe settings though.

I'd go with stiffer springs over a stiffer arb, but you may have no choice - you can't go too hard on the springs without cocking up the front damping rates, even with the adjustment available.
I should have an adjustable front ARB setup ready soon, but that's for another thread...
