14/05 got some more done last night. Managed to get the downpipe welded (very shabby but was in a rush) and got the megasquirt loom in with a few connectors wired up. clocked the turbo so could get the correct angle on the oil return and then fitted the return and feed. then the wheel fell off lol so had to fix that (ball joint had fell out) then i made a small tip for the backbox, then i went scrap yard and got some random coolant pipes, one for the thermostat housing to rad, and one for rad to water intake on back of block, but with an added t piece for header tank (as my water intake only has 2 ports in and out, not header tank)

15/05 i was out today and managed to get all the oil lines and oil cooler installed, and the exhaust tip on, and downpipe connected to exhaust

ok so heres the pics

for those who havent seen it (cant remember if i posted pics yet?) heres the gear selector and mounts. Looks a bit shabby but it needs welding still at the front and then ill spray it to match.

and heres a better pic of the custom gearbox mounting point. Its 4mm steel and also is doubled up (theres another piece underneath that bends down. aint going nowhere trust me Smile
can also see some of the megasquirt loom (still being wired in)

oil cooler fitted and oil lines etc. Just waiting for my ally catch tank to come for the 2nd port on the cam cover. If im quite honest im worried about how little air the radiators going to get because of the intercooler and oil cooler but if it is a problem ill address it at a later date.

New shortened 406 driveshafts were rebuilt today and just fitted them. They fit well or so it seems and im happy with them especially for the £50 i paid to get them done. (many thanks goes to paul simmons from 205 drivers)

How's it going sir?
Did you change the bore or does the s16 pistons fit without modification?

Regards Peder

Couldnt find any info on previous pages, what injectors, map sensor, fuel pressure reg are you using?
Are you using gti6 cams and have you left the inlet manifold standard?

sorry for no reply, just found yours.

s16 pistons fit bores as theyre the same.
injectors are bosch 403's that flow 503cc/min
map sensor is a 250kpa one fitted in megasquirt
fuel pressure reg is the standard one for now.
Gti6 cams and standard inlet with the plastic bit modified with a metal bung as it exploded lol

have been working on this, just not updated the thread. Havent done a terrible lot, but heres a few pics.

made a custom bracket for the gear cables. They now clear the downpipe nicely. No pics, but also has to weld to the gearbox arm and extend the ball joint (make it higher by about 3 inches)

also started painting my spare set of alloys matte black

ive also started putting the front end back together, ie grill etc, (not bumper yet) to makesure it all fits around the oilcooler and intercooler. so far so good. Now that the gears are connected up, just need to finish making the hydraulic hose up for clutch, and then figure out how to bleed it, and then i can get it on the rollers Wink

well the front end is basically back together now. Few problems which ill go into later, but heres the pics

As you can see im after a left hand indicator (ph1 if they are different?). The left hand headlight also does not fit correctly as the rad was moved across slightly and i didnt think about the fact that it needs to go in at an angle (measurements were wrong basically) so ive got to take off the ball mount and custom fab another mount for the light lol.
The bonnets not shut in the pics because it wont at moment (header tank is in way) but will shut fine when new header tank is fitted.

Also repaired the leak from the oil return from the turbo. Hydraulic hose and fittings for clutch still havent arrived grrr, so couldnt do that today.

good news. Finally got a part that my dad made for fitting the hydraulic line to the master cylinder. All i gotta do now is bleed it somehow (has no bleed nipple on the slave cylinder cause peugeot are idiots) and then it should technically move....

some pics, not very good tho

slave cylinder and hose

mastercylinder and hose and custom adapter.

hose routing.

long time no seabass. Car was finally in a driveable condition (ish) no MOT tax etc so trailered it down to a track which i rented for 2 hours (£55 bargain) and had a little play. heres a vid i took

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1XcAMcGGGo

could someone please linky it.

unfortunately the clutch pedals gone a bit wierd again and wont disengage fully (after about an hour of driving) so either an air leak or a shite clutch plate. Plans are to get rid of the slave cylinder and fit a different type of the newer 406 with bleed nipple on.

Track was also very icy so couldnt really get much speed, and also brakes for some reason wouldnt bite (despite feeling pretty solid ) so i need to look at them. apart from that all went well.

i had a budget and them turbos are about £1k each where as mine was less than half of that. after some calculations my turbo should be 78% efficient anyway, and theoretically should run 350bhp at 21 psi, so at 15 id hope for about 320 really. 300 is being safe (if it doesnt make 300 ill be turning the boost up and up and up until it either reaches 300 or blows up)

haha fair play bud, i actually had the intention of using a to4e but i found a gt2871rs copy for £230(bit more that a to4e) so that fits the bill, dp say their kits with gt2871rs's make 320-340 at 1 bar, so at 1.2 bar i should make the region of 350+
