yeah it fit nicely Smile worried about the wastegate hitting the silicon joiner on turbo though, will get too hot i think and melt the silicon.

Just a word of warning mate, those hoses will pop off straight away, even using mikalor clamps, also will be very laggy because of the lengh of the pipes and how many bends there are. Just my opinion but have done this all ready on my car. Mine looks like this:

the clamps im using are 20x stronger than jubilee crap, they will be ok otherwise they wouldnt be used by everybody for turbo conversions.
as for the lag, im expecting it to be laggy anyway due to the size of the turbo, but ill be sorting that out in due time.

Excellent work so far chap. Keep it up.

One question though: Aren't the branches of the exhaust manifold supposed to be of equal length? As it seems that #2 & #3 are considerably shorter than that of #1 and of #4. Am i completely wrong here?

it depends. if you get them equal then it gives smoother faster spool under load, but if theyre different lengths then you get random pulses down the pipes, so the turbo keeps spooling a little when you let off, so when you put foot back down its already half spooling. might be a complete eric fail, but if it is i can write about that in my assignment and then fix it for next years project Smile
scooby maybe, eviler hopefully Smile
need a backbox to weld on which has a 3" bore cant find one anywhere

Huh?

Surely the scooby bwarp sound is due to the flat four config?

It would be a good idea to get a bead swaged into the ends of all your tubes to help the hoses stay on under pressure. Plain tube ends will be unlikely to hold your hoses in place for long.Wink

Can he not just pop it to a welder and get them to run a raised weld round it and jubilee clip after that? may be cheaper than suaging.Smile

thats what alot people believe, the reason for there sound is due to the unequal length exhaust manifold, fit an aftermarket equal one and sound completely different

i seriously cant see them pipes coming off under only 15psi boost. maybe if i up the boost, but they are pretty smug fit and the clamps seem damn hardcore.

exhaust piping cut and welded, and new back box clamped on. Needs hangers welding on still, and also a tip connecting to it to make up the length. Also going to get started on downpipe at weekend.

Sounds completely different, ie, crap Razz

That's why most modern Group N/WRC impreza's sound just like any other rally car, and the original mcrae style WRC impreza's sound awesome (in my opinion anyway)

its the headers that make them sound like that ive had two subarus a 2005 sti that i spent a bit of cash on and put equal length headers on and then it sounds like any other turboed 2.0L . and a track wrx ra and i did the same to but striped it in a big way and it weighted 1100kg with half a tank of fuel.

pedal box has been fitted Smile

took a fair bit of work and welding which my bro helped with.

basically welded in a rail and a plate and sat the box on the plate which allowed it to sit a few inch further back meaning seat position can stay relatively normal Smile

pics
