Got my car booked in for rear beam rebuild next weds, and i'm supplying the parts (as i can get them cheap) and want to make sure i'm ordering the right bits.

Anyone got them listed? I know niel (iplay) is the part no. guru so will send him a pm, but anyone else??

depends totally on the condition of the beam when its stripped apart, I'd only buy direct as you can save a hell of a lot over most sources.

also, worth checking out the phosphor bronze items if you want a fit and forget solution.

Not to hand but as said the main dealer's should be able to get the bearing's & seals etc without any problems at all
Personally I;d never go for the phosphor bronze option as the bearings should last 10 years anyway.
As said as long as the tube and Pin's are OK then it's not too bad to do.

right so i've bought the 'rear beam rebuild kit' from peugeot [see below] - part number on my invoice is 513262 but not sure if that is the actual pug part number.

this is all that was included, does it look right as none of the bearings/seals are the same? Dunno

it goes on the smaller part of the shaft ie the furthest part into the main tube.

bo***cks, just found play in my rear beam where these bearings sit. The wheels aren't cambered yet though so I assume the beam is OK at this stage?

How do you get the trailing arms off to replace these bearings? Do you have to get the torsion bars out? Does anyone fancy changing the bearings for me? Razz

Edit - just found the rebuild guide!

Does anyone do beam bearing replacement on here? Or is it that shit a job it gets expensive?

if there's play I'd say you'll need at least a trailing arm shaft as well as the bearings, fingers crossed the shaft hasn't worn through the bearing case.

How much are the shafts welshpug? Do you get them second hand or new (expensive..?)?

Am I best with a known good beam (no play) and changing the bearings on that for good measure?
