Hey Mabz, great project and awesome 6 you have there, definitely one of the nicest on the forum. Quick question thou, did you took the rear parts of the recliners of for the wrapping?? I have the same seats in my six just in black and without the holes for the harnesses. Is it complicated to take them off?? As mine look shit and i would fancy respraying or wrapping them.

Thanks in advance and keep us posted :tumbsup

Thumbs up for friday. Your 6 was built for track for sure. Great day and back to the drawing board for lsd and cage!

Did you get any vids?

Yes mate I got 1 decent session recorded il upload it tomoz hopefully! Was good to catch up, my car handles spot on now but is now seriously lacking in power to pull hr out of bends faster than she went in!! Il be in touch when my engines built, I suspect u can help me out lol! The Astor looked v well by the way pity we never had more track time at he same time.....

Looking forward to it mate, kipps is hilarious. Ed seemed to enjoy the shotgun, but deffinately not happy with the rear. Hybrid ARB, Uprated torsion bars, and negative camber fo sho.

Well after Friday I would recommend it for a track car no doubt, but I will say that the camber can play havoc if u use the car regular as a road car. Mines great until u get in the old wagon grooves on the motorway, then it just pulls u all over the road lol. Urs was lookin real well mabz I'm just peeved I never got to grab u for some pax laps in it.... Next time maybe!? Have a word with Martin for the camber (crf450 is his username) he's a real nice bloke and really knowledgeable, he'll sort u out no worries! :-)

whoop, fitted the hybrid ARB today. Ninja

The difference is night and day. Wish i had fit it before oulton park as the back end feels alot more planted even at low speed.

Thanks for the tips lee, top manThumbs up

Managed to get a rare KD strut brace on today as im back on std front top mounts. Forgot how well that helps change in direction.

Coming soon... Custom rear shocks and front springs..

I thought less roll in the rear would = more front end grip = more unstable rear?

A stiffer rear end means more understeer, but its all about balancing the rear to the fronts. At the mo coilovets and roller vushes means the front ends pretty tight.

Will be sourcing some shocks for the rear as the rebound is way too soft on the kws.

Typo.. i meant oversteer. But on a fwd car with rear torsion beam its difficult to apply the law

right... got some 16" TD 1.2's being made out of fresh alloy as we speak... Direct Centre Bore and custom offset... would i be shot if they were being painted gold?

track orientated tyres, am thinking YOKO AD08's, A048's, or Toyo R888's?

Got a fresh strut brace on front and a lower phillipm special in the post.. rear end will be getting some custom GAZ shocks as the KW ones are way to softYes

Oh and i should be getting DAVEYBOY to weld in a rear harness bar as a off the shelf cage wont fit with the seats in. So another call to phillip should be in order for a custom cage!

Do you still want a harness bar if you are going for a full cage then? Seems a bit of a waste if you are fitting a proper cage in the not too distant future.

I think they would look good painted gold to be honest. Why the custom make?

Would i be really rude if i asked for a passenger ride come the next meet. In my mind i want a low boost conversion. In reality i have never been in one so dont know? Big grin

well, after oulton i started to get a vibration at high rpm... and a click off throttle which lead me to believe the upper engine mount cradle was cracked...

but driving it this week it got worse and the engine seemed to drop a little..

mount off to find the culprit

the remaining stud!

I'm guessing this will be a hammer and chisel job.. does the new mounts come with the washer/spacer too?

The new mount will be just that.

There is a captive nut underneath the cradle the mount screws into. Usually the chassis cracks with the captive nut still attached.

Check out daveyboy's engine/ mount/chassis repair thread.

In my honest opinion the spacer washer is one of the primary causes of failure as the edge of it forms a stress raiser and mort of the cracks seem to propegate from the area directly under the edge of the washer.

Fitted a BAKER BM upper mount with buffers.. removed the washer. A very good upgrade and theres minimal vibration.Looks like the weld job will have to wait daveyboy.

got the beast to a weigh bridge today.. 1100kg with half a tank.. Got a feeling its slightly less than that thoughNinja

That equates to 255 bhp/tonne. Smug

So i stumbled upon this list... clicky
I can confirm she is quicker that a silly priced lexus is-f LOL
