if its a Peugeot box you need to use Peugeot spec oil, i,e 75w80, not the oil recommended for the diff as it doesn't work very well at all with pug internals.

....well, a change of oil to Kaaz oil - welshpug thanks for the reply but when I spoke to the guy who fitted the diff in the original box, that is what he put in it and it was spot on in the box, both for the diff and the box itself - and in this one, normal service has returned with the diff. It no long sounds like a tarmac spec impreza wrc on lock and I am now relaxed about the gearbox swap as everything seems spot on.

Next on the list is the ceramic coated exhaust manifold, just want to take some temperature readings of the standard one first to see how much difference it makes swapping to the cermic coated one....oh yes, and find a bit of time to swap over the new evolution rear axle with its hub spacers....

Hi,

Just thought I would put up an update, things have been a bit quiet with the car lately for many reasons, and I think next year's rally activity may be a bit sparse due to an extension on the house - but we'll have to see....

I have now picked up the spare set of axle spacers for the rear beam from the engineering shop and they have confirmed that they will be able to make further sets (min of 2 axle sets per run) for

Hi Bono,

I am just waiting on a quote from the engineers and then will be able to give you a price for the steering rack extensions.

As per Dan's reply above, the rear spacers allow the use of standard peugeot ETs, I run a 7x17 with an ET18.

The rack extensions are being made by the engineering company, have asked them to make seven sets based on response.

If you would like a set(s) please can you add your name to the maxi/dimma rack extension for sale thread and I will make sure you are kept up to date on the progress when I get it from the engineering company.

Thanks,

Martin
