It is a bit minor ...

I need some help with a small cup holder modification for the centre console behind the handbrake.

I want to replace the current square insert with a square round insert so a drinks can or in our case a baby bottle can be placed without falling over!

any useful pointers advice welcome?

anyone know what plastic has been used for the current square tray?

take the square tray out, the bottle will go nearly all the way in and it wont fall over.

on the down side it will look a bit cack but on the good side, its cheap to do.

I mean the ones that hold 2 bottles of Lucozade with ease. If you drink tyre foam, that's your business Chris

Chris what do you need for the square tray?

I used to make custom surfboards in a younger life!

Moving to North Devon in the next few weeks which is good timing to pick up the right weave.

This has got me thinking about a Carbon Kevlar dashboard - could look quite nice!

i would say take the square part out, and if i remember rightly a can or bottle will fit so far, so take it out and cut 2 sides out of it and make sure you leave the bottom in, sorry i cant really explain it very well, but it could work IMO

I'm looking to try and install cupholders in a couple of places, my old Fabia had five (One behind the handbrake, two in the glovebox, and two that came out of the side of the stereo), and these Pugs don't have any!

I'm gonna do the usual one, behind the handbrake. Gona try and fit a simple cupholder and make somesort of surround somehow (ideas??)

But I also wanna put two at the front in the space above the ashtray, these'll be exclusive for bottles (As they'll be tipped on on the side slightly),

Anyone know how and if this piece of plastic comes out easy enough??

There are cupholders integrated in the original armrest:

(but not deep enough imo, but you can always use the lower compartment)

Anyone have any luck with cup holders of any kind?

I dont have enough gap between the seats for a armrest type one. I think the side airvents are too slanted for an airvent type one. Dont really want drinks in the middle air vent where if they spill they go all over the electronics.

Ideally something to replace the cubby tray above the ashtray.

Lack of cup holders is the only thing I dislike about the gti6!
