I'd primer it first, otherwise it'll flake back off after a while.

Right quick update on the brakes, not going to send them away now, am going to have a go at refurbing them myself.

Daveyboy snapped his bleed nipple on rear the other night so took mine down so he could use my bleed nipple, but low and behold it snapped on mine, 4 hours later and we basically rebuilt both my rear calipers so just going to get the seal sets for them and do it myself, will get the carriers blasted and them will paint them

I have not updated this for ages, and as its raining I cant do anything out side on the car.

Rebuilt the rear beam, with new bearings etc, gave it a lick of paint and made new pipes up for everything, ready to go on the car as soon as I have the mounts welded up, hopfully this will be this week and then will be sorted.

Got my subframe and aux bracket back from powdercoating looks spot on well happy with the finish. Had the subframe seam welded

I am so happy with the finish on the powder coating will get a few other bits done.

Next was having the engine bay seam welded up, done by daveyboy, anyone from the south I recomend him he is spot on

.

Getting all the seam selant out to get nice clean welds is an absolute ball ache, took most of the day to sort it and weld it but all done now, was going to paint it todaybut weather is crap.

Sorted the mount out too, it will never break again hopefully.

went from this

painted the hidden bit so wont rust

and finished

sorry never took more pics of doing this, welded a nut to to bottom and the mount fits spot on now.

So next job is to paint the engine bay, am going to do this with ratle cans as I think I can get a good finish and will be easier than getting it to a body shop.

After that can then fit the new loom I have and put everything back into the engine bay bolt sub frame back in and have a rolling chassis when the rear beam is fitted.

Then I can concentrate back on the engine, still saving for the rods, but should have the money soon for them, but atleast I have the pistons so can get the engine honed and bored and get my head skimmed so everything ready to go back in.
I dont really want to think how much I have spent on the car so far, but i think its about 2.5k which is not too bad, I recon another 2.5 and will be done maybe a little more, butI have changed everytihng on it, will be like driving a new car I hope there wont be anything old on it except the gearbox, new bushes new bearings the lot, Its going to be worth it and my list of parts to get is slowly going down and can finally see the light, this car has got me down just looking at the state of it at the moment, under cover stripped no engine wheels axel nothing, when she finally rolling I will be a lot happier. Will try and take more pics and will take one of the seam welded bay to see what you think

comments opinions welcome, but please be constructive

So a dry sat ment could get on with the engine bay.

Cleaned all grease and oil off and some surface rust that had formed and roughed up paint

the dressed all seams with seam seal, such a boring job, but had to be done

then got busy with the etch primer, high build primer, wet and dry then some normal primer

after that started with the colour and was well impressed with the paint,

took two tins to give one coat so rang my freind and hes going to let me borrow his compressor so will paint it with that.

here where my weapons of choice for today, all empty
