see what the price is for say 10 Pair or if theirs any further discount on say 20 - 25 - 30 etc etc
as soon as I have something solid to report i'll look after the FB side of things add people to list pass on details for payment etc!

just don't want to get people on side then the price be too extortionate to be put into production!

Phil means the brackets are his design and he deserves royalties for using said design

To be fair, caliper brackets ain't exactly rocket science and if you gave 10 engineers the task of making one from scratch then you'd probably find that the solution would be pretty much identical...

I have asked for a price based on 10. I was told the price is made a lot cheaper doing 10 rather than 1 but 20 or 30 wouldn't be much cheaper than 10

What I mean is the percentage discount would not go down after 10 apparently unless I assume we went for something like 100 but that's not going to happen. I should have a rough idea of price by the end of the week

My guess was that phil meant having all them radius' milled into the brackets would mean they're fairly awkward to copy/machine, as opposed to the more square design from an image I saw of one of welly's first ones.

As Steve said - the ones you have there are the fancier/lighter version I designed, as opposed to Welly's original square ones - which means a lot more work in milling and setup, so most companies will charge you an arm and a leg as they're not even radii, they're all parabolic curves - I did actually lend Steve a spare bracket so he could get some priced up at one bit but it was stupid money I think.

Rather than copy it directly, could the 'hard points' like bolt holes and flange faces not be copied ant the bits in between left a little more free form? I know nothing about CNC but surely the dimensions etc should be able to be replicated with a less sophisticated cut file.

Yeah, that's what Welly's original was, just square cuts, lot easier to make, albeit a fair bit heavier/less stiff.

edit: Top right

I'll cost up, but the problem is they were cheap the first time around because I was doing the design/toolpaths/setting the machine up and running it as well, renting a machine and operator means they'll want to do the toolpaths and then you end up with a bill with some zero's on Razz

The brackets that come with the wilwoods from Rallye design... I believe I have these for mine. They fit but you have to run their discs. I'm sure though, if memory serves, they'd need 10mm milled off them to reduce the offset that's set in order to run the RD discs.

Could this be an option? Bulk buy and get them machined?

with the 285mm rd disc?

never had chance to measure them properly, but they do go under more 15's as theyre much taller offset disc than a 306
