So just a small update on a few little jobs tackled this past weekend on the car.

First up was sorting out the drivers side headlight.

Recently both the indicator bulb and the side light bulb had failed so I was only left with my main beam and an annoying high speed tick every time I went to turn right!

Anyone who knows the meganes are an absolute ballache to change a bulb on as there's no access from the top/engine bay and Renault in their wisdom put the worlds smallest inspection panel in the wheel arches that are designed to remove as much knuckle skin as possible.

After reading up alot of owners recommend taking the front bumper off to change the bulbs as it's easier.

Also since purchasing the car the drivers side headlight has suffered with blistering paint on the inside of the headlight which really let the look of the car down.

Dodgy bubbling paint headlight Sad

And up close

So half way through surgery she looked like this

Luckily I'm breaking another R26 ATM that had also been fitted with Xenons so I took the mint drivers side headlight from it and fitted it to my car.

And how it looks all back together

Also on the list of bits to do was to swap the TB breather pipe over. Again since ive owned the car this hasn't been right and annoyed me.

Even though it was secure and was fitted in place with a matching Liquid Yellow cable tie it I couldn't live with it.

So step in the breaker R26 with a mint breather pipe with complete connecter ends.

And finally fitted without a cable tie in sight

As the pipes connectors are very brittle I didn't want them breaking again plus I didn't want to fork out the £50 quid it would have cost ne to buy the pipe from Renault, so I fitted the Forge covers that I purchased a while back.

And in situ (don't worry the red bolts will be replaced by some stainless ones and I hate how they look in the engine bay)

Last but not least was a simple swap of mirror switch on the inside. The one fitted had the logos start to wear off and yet again the other R26 donated a nicer part for me to fit.

Before

And after

So it was getting dark and had to get a picture with the Black R26 that kindly donated all the parts for free

Granted this isn't the most exciting update but I believe the little details are as important as the big ones.

Hopefully I'll have some juicer news next time but cheers for reading those who have Thumbs up

So time for a little update.

Had these new engine mounts and Powerflex mounts/inserts for some time and finally got a nice day to change them over.

So started with the lower engine mount, fitted in its new home

Then on to the upper engine mount with new stabiliser bar

Then finally the new gearbox mount

Also chucked on a new coolant bottle cap from the one I broke recently as the yellow paint was still intact

She's off for her MOT tomorrow so fingers crossed it doesn't cost me too much!

So good news!

Car has passed it's MOT with 2 advisories which are crusty rear shocks and springs (still have all the new suspension bits to fit from last year) and a track rod end that needs looking at.

Over the last few months my driving/parking hasn't been it's best as sadly I've curbed the R26.R alloys quite badly Sad

So to rectify this I decided yo have the alloy wheels refurbished. Any ormal person would just either buy a cheap set of wheels to roll around on or stick the car on axle stands.

No me as i've bought another set of R26.R alloys and had them refurbished instead Laugh my ass off

Here's the wheels back from the sprayed this afternoon

Next up is an exhaust and hopefully remap time at end of April

Cheers buddy. A standard megane 225 would struggle keep up with a low boost 306 but a lightly modded one (decat, exhaust, injectors and a remap) would be as quick if not a bit quicker.

Just fitting my 250 turbo, de-cat, injectors and find an exhaust plus a re-map. should be good for 300bhp and 300 ft/lbs.

TBH I'm a bit bored of the car but dont have the funds to buy a C63 AMG so it's staying for another 12 months at least.
