Is the sensor the same. Large xsaras use different management. Just a thought.

Otherwise I'd say tracking possibly

just drove it up and down the road again, its got an insanely strong self centering motion and the pulsing with lock on is pretty horrible, even at low speed.

Genuinely worried this is going to ruin the upcoming trackday in Feb at Silverstone Sad

With the high pressure pipe about an inch or so had to be replaced (just extended be flexi hose by that amount with insanely over spec'd hp hose of the same internal diameter etc)

Yes tracking was done immediately after, however it was fouling the box badly so it was done again to
Limit that, could that be a potential issue?

I run 205 section tyres so it was fouling pretty badly immediately after fitting (much worse than the old original rack)

Any ideas?

I have very little fouling running Direzzas which must be 215s and a Xsara ph2 rack. Only on full lock do they rub.

Jesus I don't know what's going on, they only foul at full lock right but pretty badly (they did a bit as standard)

I'm totally lost on what to do now

You need the GTi6 Ram fitted to stop it fouling, but still sounds like a fluid restriction issue

Yup, the ram controls the lock so if you didn't change it you'll have more right lock than the rest of us, hence why you get more fouling.

I'd suggest changing the ram and as part of that you'll have to change the fluid so see how it feels after that? Might be worth changing the pump at the same time if you've got all the fluid out anyway?

Its not the ram.

Strong centering steering means the geometry is set up wrong. Get it checked again - its only toes anyway. Go for slight toe-in of 3 minutes overall max.

Oh and make sure the tyre pressures are bang on before its done. If running a diff you'll find it drags about with un-equal tyre pressures.

The Beauty about the VTS Phaze 1 rack is you can use all your old pipework as well as being 2.4 not 2.6 as with the Phaze 2 which you need to adapt Thumbs down

Did you flush the old pipework through before fitting or did the garage ?.....sounds like a very small piece of rust flake /foreign object has entered the pipe work ?

Could a small flake of the damaged pipe have entered ...either before you stripped or after ?

I've seen stuff which has been taken off cars which has been stored end up with this problem ...
My suspicion would be something got into the pipework / Fluid ?

You still have to use the GTI6 Ram on both Phaze 1 & Phaze 2 or fouling happens & hits 6 speed box housing ....

I beleive so, my mate fitted it at his garage but given the fluid needs to cme out again anyway I'll be sure to make sure it is flushed

I had no idea about the phase 1 vs 2, it's been a total ball ache and I'm regretting it massively

It's going in on the 21st so we'll see then...

Great news to hear it is all sorted. I've got one fitted and love it - I think it is what the Rallye should have had from the start.
