Hi all

Well after a 2 month saga/nightmare my phase 2 vts rack is fitted...

The turn in and general 'alertness' is frankly epic, however it is also doing something rather odd that I hope you can advise me on...

So, I've had a 2nd hand low mileage vts rack fitted with new track rod ends, mated to my existing setup. Sadly the high pressure rail was ruined by the supplier so we had to have part of it repaired which was effectively replaced by a well known local high pressure hydraulics company...

Anyway, looks great, really nice fitment etc, however I'm finding when holding anything more than a constant 1/4 lock in either direction (e.g a roundabout) there is an odd almost tugging sensation at the wheel (like a strong self centering type motion)

The old standard rack didn't do this, it's not dangerous but doesnt feel great, any idea what could be causing it?

Much appreciated, this has been a very long and expensive saga so just want to sort it out :-(

How did you bleed the rack? Did you go lock to lock multiple times?

I didn't bleed it the garage did...well worth it the turn in is incredible!

Sounds like a restriction in a pipe.

Balls I feared it may be that, the high pressure rail was mullered so we had to replace a section of it, hope that isn't what is causing it :-(

Source a cheap second hand pipe and swap it over.

    Have you checked the uj on the steering colum ? Sometimes they dry out ?

    You should go lock to lock a few times but yes the air will extract itself.

    Try reworking the pipe if there is any obvious damage.

    Not sure mate, I'm not going to start slagging anyone off, the chap I dealt with was pretty reasonable in the end so I just want to get it fixed one way or another

    I will get the Uj checked, ive found it next to impossible to source a replacement full hp hose and frankly don't have the time to get it all replaced etc, in the end it's cost me a small fortune lol

    Sounds like it might have done. I know that if I turn the wheel on my road car the revs change as the pump puts load on the engine.

    Could be that there was a blockage or something not right in the new pipes and it caused damage to the pump?
