Well I'm trying to lose weight in my car without stripping carpets & keep a little comfort even though they weigh a ton ....my Heater matrix packed up two months ago & I'm running a bypass at mo....so Heated screen it is & the dash will be coming out & all the crap not needed behind it going including all the heater boxes & wiring ...

I've found a bloke who can make a full dash mould & make the dash in fibreglass or Carbon ?
I'm going to get mine flocked anyway so any of the two depending on price will do ..
He's saying the mould will be £200-£300 ...
It's not a 100% goer but anybody interested so the mould comes down in price ?

Or better still any clever sods on here capable of making a mould that big ?
It may never happen because of costs ....Whistle

Well any interest ?

There is a guy who is a photographer called Rowan with a red 6 that had the passenger side cut off - it looked pretty fecking awful tbh

He's now replaced it with a flocked dash that looks bloody awesome, that would be my pref for sure

Never had or seen a dash out other than videos !!!
Thanks Wayne Thumbs up
I may end up doing that Wayne ?.....because I'm getting rid of all my Heater & cold air blowers & vents & controls !!!
Will keep the radio LOL
I would not want to pay £500-600 for a one off dash with mould cost ?

Reasons may end up doing what you have because the mould I'm talking about would have the top vents missing ....

I'm going to get it flocked whatever happens & I'm not replacing the broken heater matrix ....loads of sound insulation & crap to be removed & I'll modify & make gauge pods to go where Heater controls are as others have done we'll before me Thumbs up
I will be doing this in the next 2 months Whistle

Mine is pretty light but still has the heater matrix and box for now

I couldn't easily do one of these as I have to chop it a lot for my cage

So Am I correct your dash couldn't be removed without removing some off your cage ?

Well I'm removing my dash next week & Everybit of my matrix/ Heater controls & vents will be going including the matrix pipes & the sound insulation behind the dash Thumbs up

My Heated Windscreen will then be fitted after & the Rain sensors removed also !

I'm going to modify the heater control panel & fit some gauges as others have done well before me Thumbs up

Behind Dash Whistle

Well after removing Dash soundproofing & chopping the dash apart & removing heater completely Crazy

Heated Windscreen being fitted & roof vent ...It won't be used in the cold ...

Removed A total with everything of 27kgs of parts wow ...ok so I may freeze my nuts off Whistle ...

Dash now it's been lightened underneath its going to be flocked with the glovebox & top box ...also lots of unneeded wiring removed Thumbs up

Dash was 9.1kgs now 6.2kgs...

3 large holes to fill with bonded Alloy plate ...

Must admit taking the dash out is not for the faint hearted its even more of a pain when the Alarm blokes soldered all the connections on the wrong side so the loom wouldn't come out Thumbs down

I did exactly what midlife said, took a Dremel to the dash and chopped loads out. Took a little while but still looks good although a bit more flexible now! Big grin

Half a job - get rid of the metal bar too.
I'm keeping my heater in as I use it in all weather. The extra 5kg is fine as I'm not chasing silly lightness

My dash (mk3 version) is cut around the cage and I've cut it underneath to make 'flaps' that sit it into the windscreen as normal. Twat to get in. Cut a load of wiring out too.

Also now has a roof scoop. Minor fettling required yet on that beauty

Heated W/S. & TRS roof scoop being fitted LOL
Never used the heater just wouldn't turn off because of Aircon was Fitted Thumbs down
