Hi,Does anyone have a low boost supercharged 306 in the County Durham/north east area that wound like to take me out for a passenger ride?  I'm thinking about supercharging my track car but would like to at least sit in one and see what the power delivery is like, also hear if you've had any issues. I went in one and thought "Holy f**k" if that helps. Bought a kit immediately but i've sat on it for ages and don't really need more power when it spends about 2/3rds of its life at a traffic light so i'm selling the kit.But they are fast, I would say a stock Mk2 Focus RS fast or pretty much even Track car would be wicked. ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

Low boost starts to make a real difference over standard when in 3rd onwards. ________________________________________ See the sheer power and might of the lesser known burrowing owl. |

To be honest i noticed a marked difference.It is easily Focus RS Mk2 fast and a Focus RS MK2 is faster than a standard six by a good margin. 0-100 times don't lie do they. Clearly adding 90hp is going to make a difference ________________________________________ Ex- Phase 3 China GTi-6 T-Reg |

I'll do some searching on the eaton charger (have not looked into that one).If the low boost option does not give much benefit I will probably save the money and spend it something else in future. I got spanked by Lee's LB 6 in my standard 6. Although his was around 274 bhp. With a couple of light weight mods, a good difference can be made over a standard 6. As I say, 3rd and upwards there is a big difference. I was chasing armzs16 last week on a straight road, 1st and 2nd was a bit quicker, 3-5th was a big difference. Its all down to the driver really. I done knockhill with Russ in my Astor with standard engine and russ was low boost, he pulled away on the straights but i got him in the corners. Same again at donnington park when i was on track with Chris Harris in his low boost 6 and to be honest i went out in front of him and never seen him all session. I just dont see it being worth £3k but then again i have never really had a good battle with one. I've been passenger in a standard and overtook a LBSC at Llandow before. There is a massive difference in pulling out behind a car on a road and planting your foot down to pulling away on circuit. I can just about hang on the back of 400hp imprezas, evos etc at Combe on the straights and normally overtake into braking or exit, however if I pulled out behind a tuned impreza at 50 on a A road to overtake a car they'd be long gone. Low boost is worth it, but id recommend a diff.You'll want more when you get used to it. |
