Me & Pebbles / Chris had a long chat yesterday as we are both looking at both ?
I understand you get more power for your pound with low boost ?
But I love the sound of bodies & want to do more track days so are low boost up to ranting the stnd internals on the track ?

I'm sure there has to be a few on here who had had both or m8s that have either ?

my budget won't be enough to do Throttle bodies as I would like to with solid lifters & better cams & dished pistons ...I can only do less maybe similar to what Mei has done which is amazing & I would be more than happy with ...but would sadly have to pay someone to do ....more money ...I don't have inc in ....should I wait ??

I could fit a full low boost kit myself !!!!

I have seen Low boost kits dropping in price lately ???
Also my Head-gasket had been done short while ago with valve stems / pump / cambelt so don't really want the head off unless I have to ?

Views please ....for & against ?Whistle

Personally I'd go bodies, uses less fuel, better noise, cheaper to get setup, better throttle response.

loads lighter, don't need multiple coolers, all that pipework etc!

I found the bonus of the bodies also is I can still run the stock exhaust without any downsides, the car is no louder than stock till I open the butterflies then all hell breaks loose Hyper

You can go a fair way on the cam spec without needing solids, though beyond the likes of the PH2 the stock springs cant take the peak lift.

no downside to those ones at all.

never seen a direct comparison but they always made good power, especially over the jenvey inlet.

I think I'll be over, just txt RobGTi6, aka Norman, to see if he has a ticket left Thumbs up

Baz only has new stuff at the mo, so depends how soon you want it done, I think miles has Satchell inlets on the shelf as exchange items or Dave at Satchell engineering can usually turn them around in a reasonable timescale.

Mei Good man Smile

Just thinking about the phase 1 charged car for sale on here ????
Strip the charger & put my Phase 2 stuff on it and sell it ?
Would my ECU if unlocked fit ?
Would all my bits fit ?

Sell the phase 1 low mileage for WHAT do you guys think sensibly ?????

Could go charged now ?
I'm more than capable of doing that quickly !

Sell the charger in 6 months shouldn't lose money & when I've saved some money up for Project Mei 2.2 with Satchell/ Jenvey bodies ?

The only thing with Throttle Bodies is that you need some kind of Idle control when the engine is cold, unless you don't mind waiting a few minutes holding it at 1000 RPM before setting off.

Not on mine!

Idles fine on cold.

I'll be able to confirm this properly later. My Rallye will be started tonight first time since July.

I was talking cold as in over winter when it was less than 5 degrees. Will have to come up with some kind of idle control mechanism on the throttle linkage or drill and tap holes in the inlet manifold and plumb in a control valve.
The sound is the best thing though!.

Bodies would be my choice. But there is no denying that 'Bang for Buck' a low boost setup is the way to go.
