Wanting to fit a quickshift to my 6. I read a few posts on here and the net and plumbed for a £20 GE item. Well it has arrived and even though I am yet to fit it, it feels extremely light and small but somehow not in a good way. I was wondering if many people on here have these fitted and if so do they like them? And if not one of these what have you got? I've just looked at the Ecosse version which looks a completely different design. Apart from Hesse 2 are there any other gearbox end quickshift s available? As I've given up on a satchshift lol

Cheers all

i also had a skip brown one which basically they make in situ, by extending the ball out on the subframe selector bit. that was just as good, but dearer than £20

I did away with my GE quickshift found it to make the gear change too Notchy. Particularly on a box that's done 145k. I've now just got uprated linkages from miles with a cut down gear lever for shorter throw and it's spot on.

Also I got my GE quickshift second hand from someone claiming it slipped so they took it off.

Before I fitted it I drilled out the piddly bolt holes and put a larger bolt through instead and it need moved a mm once fitted.

A previous owner had put a Skip Brown shift on the first Rallye I had. It was great, the throw was reduced and there was no notchiness. The receipt in the service history was for about £55 but I think you have to go to them to get it done. I would love one for my current car but Cheshire's a long way from here!

I don't remember any difference in the precision of the shift between that car and other 306s - if your gear change is imprecise could the linkages be knackered, engine or gearbox mounts shot, cup cracked, etc.?

For uprated linkages, Miles is the guy's forum name, his website is pugracing.com

Shorter lever is a good idea as well, did you fit a ZX one or make your own armzs?
