i have a boost leak (again), i believe it is the supercharger joint again
cannot remember how i tested for a leak last time... think i sprayed something on the joint and it made car rev more?

2 or so years ago i had a similar issue had it re-welded then and worked fine

my silcone tubing is reasonably new as well

barring me finding any obvious damage to pipework when i strip it down i am planning redoing the Charger to intercooler pipework like this:

(sketch courtesy of Daniel Birkinshaw believe hes an ex member on here)

just want to get a second opinion on the above, any think this is a bad idea? More restrictive etc?

Cheers,
Russell

I Can't see why that would be more restrictive.

That will be fine... you just want to get it into the 63mm pipe as soon as you can after the S/C outlet.

What bottom engine mount do you have, and has the top engine mount been chocked? Depending on what mounts you have, it may be cracking to excess engine movement when you come on an off the throttle.

That's exactly what happened to mine when it was low boost, I cut a mandrel bent 180 degree bend to the perfect angle and had it welded on but as it stretches when they bend them the aluminium was really thin at the pount it cracked

thanks guys, just want i wanted to hear

top mount chocked and top mount area had to be fixed and re-welded a few years ago (can easy check again for anything obvious)

bottom mount is a Yellow Powerflex (sp?) one, took a group N one off it was too much for me, or my dash LOL

first time it cracked I think it was due to top mount being damaged... causing excessive engine movement

pipework and silicone hoses are all very tight and isn’t much room for things to flex, this should sort it for now
fins on the intercooler aren’t looking great in the lower areas and I dread to think how old this pipework is now, lasted pretty well.

anyone using these straight Silicone Hump Hoses i see?.....

I'd check the powerflex mount, they go soft then break up.

There's some other hump hoses available with 3 humps and a steel ring around it all that's much better and flexible than them, but there a bit longer, probably way too long for your requirements:

dont suppose you have used them?
looks like there is wires on outside
wouldnt they just collaspse?

i could fit them in elsewhere (i.e not near charger, very tight there)

Got them on mine but my throttle body is on the manifold.
Are you running with the TB on the charger?
If so yes there 150mm long so could get sucked in yes.
There too long to have on your charger, it would fowl the rad

Does someone know of any special or reinforced silicone hose for the charger outlet that won't partially collapse on idle?

The one russbez linked or just normal stuff probably your best bet but when you use it have a very short gap like just an inch at most inside the hose between the charger outlet and the hard aluninium pipe.
